I am having a new Texecom alarm installed next week and my alarm installer is saying I need IPCom to interface with Control4 - it sounds like this is not correct and I just need SmartCom? Is SmartCom the upgraded IPCom and IPCom is now redundant?

Go on the texe.com forum. From memory you need 2 separate IP things, eg a smart com for the Texecom's new app to work and another separate ipcom for the Control4. This stops the Control4 from dropping out on a single IP connection, or messing with the Texecom app. If you are not using the app then only one IP connection is needed.

Thank you - I think I am clear for now. Was there anything tricky you had to do to get the SmartCom to connect to Control4 after using the app or did it just start working with the Control4 driver immediately and dropped the app functionality?

i have 8 sensors going into the system, 5 pir's and 3 door contacts, i wish for these to be indevidual zones, so a simple wire from the sensor to the zone board is what i need, however the manual dont say how to do that. plus i have 2 control panels, but i have worked out how to do them, just the wiring of the main board for the 8 sensors, the wiring for the actual pir's and the wiring for the door sensors, if you can help, i would be really happy!

You really should have gone for something like Yale or Responses kit's. It sound to me you haven't a clue what your doing and have bitten off more than you can chew. My advice really is get someone in to do it or send it back. As the premier is a proffesional panel which we use for most of our install's. You may damage the panel if you don't know what your doing mate

Do you have a multimeter? If so you put your meter across the silver contacts there should not be a reading, bring the magnet close it should go to short, if they don't keep trying terminals till they do. Connect these to the same terminals as you did the PIR alarm contacts on the panel. For the anti-taper you don't say whether they are flush or surface & whether they have an extra set of contacts in them to detect them fastened to a surface in the case of flush. So it's difficult to advise you on that, not knowing the panel I don't know if each zone has it's own anti-tamper or a global anti-tamper, if it has it's own then anti-tamper will go to the device & then back, if it's global you need to daisy chain all the anti-tampers together.

GET OUT CLAUSE:- I do not know this panel, I do not know if you can damage it, what I have given is general advice & may or may not be suitable for your instance, so you take the advice at your own peril.

The SmartCom has advanced features, such as Ethernet and Wi-Fi (2.4Ghz), DHCP addressing, remote connection without port forwarding, and the use of Texecom Cloud service. It comes with a simple user web page for Wi-Fi configuration, making installation hassle-free.

This device is compatible with Premier Elite panels with V4.00 firmware or later, and comes as a separate module connected to two COM ports within the panel. The device is also compatible with Texecom Cloud for remote configuration. Additionally, the system is compatible with a wide range of Texecom Digital Services, such as Texecom Cloud, Texecom Monitor, and Texecom Connect, when using a SmartCom or SmartCom 4G communicator.

Hopefully someone can clarify something that is not clear to me - If I want to access the system with both the Texecom app and home assistant at the same time, will I need to install both SmartCom and ComIP or is SmartCom alone sufficient to handle both use cases?

*System requirements: Texecom Cloud is compatible with Premier Elite systems using Texecom Connect SmartCom or Premier Elite ComIP communications. Requires Premier Elite firmware V4.01 and above (for SmartCom connectivity) or V2.11 and above (for ComIP connectivity)
**Requires Gold Membership

The following rule is sending a request to the Texecom alarm panel to ask what is currently on the LCD display. This information is needed, since some information is not directly pushed via the Crestron protocol. E.g. the only way to know if an alarm is triggered, is by looking at the LCD display.

I am looking to buy and install a texecom alarm with the com-ip addition. I am also hoping to combine home automation.
I do have a background in networks although less hands on. I hope to help with feedback and any way i can.

I also have the same issue with disarming the alarm as I get the user/tag with the data to show its been disarmed. How would I modify the rule/items to be able to use both pieces of data even though they are separated by the return?
