This mail is for all those friends who may not have sponsored trees
but have been supportive in ways more than one....
Would like to thank you guys for your encouragement all along.
Hi All,
This mail is only to CONGRATULATE you all for the huge success of the
plantation ceremony.
We celebrated the event with dance and drama…
A Tibetan Folk dance, Some Folk songs and jokes and a street play
performed by a local Youth Group - Tu Kyun Na Jaane (on the theme of
Global Warming)
The event was attended by the Local MLA, Popa Rabjam ( Khampagar
Monastery), Sub Divisional Magistrate, Block Development Officer,
Forest Range Officer, (the Divisional Forest Officer couldn't make
it), Dr Nag, and a crowd of 300 people.
The MLA and Popa Rabjam (a Tibetan spiritual head and President of the
Khampagar monastery) planted two trees along with the Block
Development Officer who planted one tree.
The Khoj / Vriksh Team planted one Banyan tree.
We were instructed by Dr Nag and the DFO to not ask the entire public
to plant the trees as they may not be planted well enough for them to
be able to survive well.
Dr Nag repeatedly insisted, 'plant few, but plant them well and help
them survive'. We are going by that.
Today onwards, for the next 4 days we, Rachna, the couple employed to
look after this space for the next year (thanks to a contribution of
Rahul Dewan – Dehli, who has sponsored a sum of Rs 1000/- for the next
entire year) myself and some volunteers, will begin to plant our
trees. We shall be doing it under the guidance of Dr Nag, so that each
tree is planted in a way that it wouldn't block another one after
growing, would be conducive to thier own growth and that of others and
also make the place look beautiful.
I would like to thank Himvani.com at this juncture from promoting our
campaign through thier well updated e-journalism website.
This is what I've been waiting for all along. To actually plant trees.
So, Thank you all once again… and Congratulations to you all too…
One more news, during the course of the event, the SDM granted a sum
of Rs11,000/- and the MLA adopted 10 trees.
This was also a success for us.
More updates soon. Will be uploading the photos and sending a link a.s.a.p.
Love for all
Bhakti and team…
