Announcing BookSense v30 Patch 2

Hello BookSense Customers,

HIMS is pleased to announce the availability of patch firmware for the BookSense v3.0
* * Note: This upgrade is available for the Standard and XT models.

This patch fixes the following issues:

1.       Improved navigation. General sluggish navigation is fixed.

2.       The alarm melody is working properly. The problem locking up the music selection when setting the alarm melody is fixed.

3.       The equalizer setting will now hold.  Previously, the equalizer setting did not actually hold, even though the setting said it did.

4.       BookShare access is improved. Problems related to skipping text for some BookShare books is fixed.

 

** Please Note: If you are NOT running version 3.0, please contact Tech Support at (512) 837-2000 or by email at sup...@hims-inc.com and we'll get you the necessary files to upgrade.

Use the following instructions to upgrade your BookSense Standard:

1.       Download the zip file containing the firmware from the link above to your PC.
2.       Extract the firmware file on your PC; please be sure it contains (1) file with a .bin extension
3.       Copy the file from your PC and paste it into the root of your SD card.
          * Please make sure the (1) .bin file is placed in the root of your SD card.
4.       Insert the SD card into the BookSense.
5.       Connect the AC adapter to the BookSense.
6.       Power on the BookSense.
7.       Press the MENU button and navigate to "Advance Options" using the up or down arrow.
8.       Press the RIGHT arrow to open the "Advanced Options"; you are placed on the "Upgrade Firmware" option.
9.       Press the RIGHT arrow. You are asked "Do you want to Upgrade?" Yes.
10.     Press the MENU or the OK button and the system will reboot and start upgrading.
          *When the upgrade is complete, please check your system information to ensure that you a running firmware v3.0 build 141013.

1.       Download the zip file containing the firmware from the link above to your PC.
2.       Extract the firmware file on your PC; please be sure it contains 4 files.
3.       Copy the files from your PC and paste them into the root of your SD card.
          *Please make sure the 4 files are placed in the root of your SD card.
4.       Insert the SD card into the BookSense.
5.       Connect the AC adapter to the BookSense.
6.       Power on the BookSense.
7.       Press the MENU button and navigate to "Advance Options" using the up or down arrow.
8.       Press the RIGHT arrow to open the "Advanced Options"; you are placed on the "Upgrade Firmware" option.
9.       Press the RIGHT arrow. You are asked "Do you want to Upgrade?" Yes.
10.     Press the MENU or the OK button and the system will reboot and start upgrading.
           *When the upgrade is complete, please check your system information to ensure that you are running firmware v3.0 build 141013.
