Dear All,
Had a nice short trip to Pong Wetland. Devinder Dadhwal kindly accompanied during the short visit.
The pipits, larks and wagtails provide excellent sightings and photo opportunities.
Was fortunate to see a small group of Bar-headed Goose that landed just in our presence. Mukesh Dhiman a birder of Nagrota Suriyan and a member of Himachal Birds was the first to spot this group. The speciality of the group was that it included a goose with the pink ring around its neck which read H17. Hope it was collared here at Pong only.
another notable sighting was of the Common Ring Plover, in fact not so common to spot. Slender -billed Gulls were also seen.
Among the larks the following were seen:
- Oriental Skylark
- Eurasian Bushlark
- Indian Bushlark
- Crested Lark
- Sandlark
Black Kites could be seen in dozens. Egyptian vulture also recorded its presence in reasonable good numbers.
He can make all arrangements for your stay and can be your guide and a competent one too.
Cheers
