Speaking of out of town races, didn't see any other HCC folks at today's Crit in Chantilly, Va (just south of Dulles Airport). They have a perfect layout for a Crit in a relatively new Industrial Park with smooth pavement and wide turns. There's also another loop just outboard of the race course so you can warm up and cool down while watching the other races. Except for very strong winds (20+), it was a great race. It was the biggest field I ever raced in; 44 finishers but I think there were 50+ at the start. Pete Swan was the only other person I knew. We raced in the combined 45+ and 55+ race. I had a very good day finishing 16th overall, 2nd in the 55+ (collected $50), and got 1st place points for the 60+ BAR. One nasty crash in the last turn that took out at least a couple of guys that would have beaten me but I'm pretty sure
they were 45+ guys.
