I hope everyone is having a good time. We are half way through the
2006 Spring Baseball Season and have had much success with only a few
rain-outs. So I would like to say thank you to everyone who has been
involved making Evergreen Little League function smoothly. Parents,
you are what makes the program a quality experience for all our
children. The Evergreen Little League can only be as good as we, the
parents, make it. So THANK YOU!
Now I need to cover a few items with everyone.
** Dairy Creek **
Our only downfall regarding games/fields is the two year-old Dairy
Creek Park. Even with the dry weather the recovery time for this
field was just too long, so we had to reschedule or move most of the
games.
** Rules and Regulations **
Our local rules for Tee Ball, Minor A and Minor AA are in addition to
those found in the Little League Rule book. Please refer to the
Little League Rule book if a rule is not addressed by our local rules.
Those participating in Minor AA, Minor AAA and Majors, please remember
that no one is permitted on a Little League field during a game except
uniformed players, managers, coaches, umpires, and news photographers
authorized by the league or tournament director. Players must remain
in their dugouts or bull pen unless they are actively in the game (at
bat, on base, or in the field). In levels for 12-year-olds and
younger, the on-deck batter must remain in the dugout until it is time
to bat (no on-deck position permitted). A manager or coach who is not
coaching a base must remain in the dugout unless allowed by an umpire
to confer with a player or an umpire.
** Umpires **
Please recognize that the umpire is the closest to the play and that
each umpire will "call them as they see them." Our umpires are
teenagers (13 to 16 years-old) and have assumed a difficult, but
necessary, role. They won't make perfect calls, but they are trying
so please give them your support.
Please remember abusive language is strictly prohibited. If an
individual is unable to refrain from using foul language or making
derogatory remarks to any player, manager, coach, or umpire, the
umpire or other League official may suspend the game until that
individual leaves the playing area. If the individual refuses to
leave, then the team they are with will forfeit the game. Umpires
should always work with team managers and never interact with fans,
please have the managers approach the person and ask them to leave.
Again, I would like to thank everyone that has been involved in the
success of our league. Little League is a community supported
organization and without your help and support it would not be
successful. If you have questions or concerns you can email me at
HillsboroL...@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Chris Cronk - President of Evergreen Little League
