Hillsboro High School led by Hilhi Coach, Don Freeman, will hold the "2007 Spring Training Baseball Camp" on Wednesday and Thursday of spring break, March 28-29 at Hare Field. The day will be broken up into two sessions. Boys 2nd through 4th grade will have their training session from 9:00
a.m. to 12:00 each day. Boys in 5th through 8th grade will go from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cost is $60 for the two days, which includes a camp t-shirt if pre-registered by March 21st. Please make checks out to "Sparton Baseball."
Each day will be broken down into individual skill development on offense and defense. Emphasis on small group skills and large group skills will be stressed throughout the day. Bunting and base running will be stressed as well.
Don Freeman has been the USA Baseball national team pitching coach twice and served as the head coach once. The USA Baseball Youth National team won the gold medal in Taiwan for the World Championship in 2004 under Coach Freeman's direction. This summer Coach Freeman will again be coaching the Youth National Team in the World Championship in Venezuela.
