Hey,

Congrats to John, Adrien, Janet, Jill and myself on a great tri yesterday at Captex.  I saw Jill finish yesterday and she looked great.  Way to go on your first olympic distance:)

Sherry has never done a tri before and she is scheduled to do one on June 21st.  So this week since we are between clinics, how would everyone feel about having a mini tri on wed night instead of the run clinic.  (Coach Autumn would this be ok?)  We would start at 6:00 pm at the plum creek pool.  Instruction for first timers on how to set up transition.  Swim 300 or 400 yards at the pool.  Transition to the bikes (possibly at John's house down the road).  Ride 10 miles to 5 mile dam and back and then run 2 to 3 miles in Plum Creek.  What do you guys think.  Something different to break up the training between Captex and our next triathlons.

I still need t-shirt sizes from: Erika & Chris Nieto, Janet Gooding, Vanessa Torres, Ryan Mattox, and Heather Seibert if you decide to join.

Lastly, think about if you are going to do the bike clinic on mondays at 6:30 ($30.00), run clinic on Wed at 8:00 (free), and the swim on Thursdays at 7:00 (($30.00)starting on June 2nd and running for 8 weeks.  The goal is to compete in the August 3rd Jacks generic or River City Tri in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Registration for the River City Tri is this weekend.  More details later.  But it sells out in an hour so we have to get organized and figure out who is going and then all get online and register.  So talk to people this week and decide if you want to go as a team!

Wed sounds like fun. 6pm may be a bit too early for me, but I will make it if I can!

Great idea.

Patty

That works well for me.  Marcus will be in Houston, so I was having a hard time making the run clinic work.  I'm sad that I won't be able to participate in the mini tri.  It sounds like a blast.

I think we should meet at my house at 6039 McNaughton across from Rocking Horse, meet at garage in back. We'll drop off running shoes then head to plum creek pool with bikes. Swim...then jump on bikes and ride to 5 mile dam then back at my house for T2, drop bikes in garage and run 2 or 3 miles back to my garage.

Sound ok?

Thanks John - This is perfect.  So we will meet at his house.  (see below)  at 6:00 pm tomorrow (wed night).  Questions call me: 225 802-0569

So if you are new to the sport: Sherry, Nicole, Allena, Nick, Erika, LJ, Vanessa this will be the perfect opportunity to learn about triathlons. We will have a transition review and race format review.  If you are an experienced triathlete, come and join us and show the new people how it is done.  Use this as a recovery ride from Captex.

So items to bring:

swim (goggles, swim cap, wear your swimsuit with sports bra or bikers shorts with sports bra and fitted running shirt

bike (bike, biking shoes, socks, water, sunglasses, helmet, shorts to pull on over swimsuit)

run (shoes, hat if you want one)

bring a towel to lay out your transition area.

I think we should meet at my house (john's) at 6039 McNaughton across from Rocking Horse, meet at garage in back. We'll drop off running shoes then head to plum creek pool with bikes. Swim...then jump on bikes and ride to 5 mile dam then back at my house for T2, drop bikes in garage and run 2 or 3 miles back to my garage.
