I am using a Series 7 UHD samsung TV (model: UE65TU7095U) and I am trying to use the remote access feature with my PC which is in another room. Both TV and PC are connected by etherent cable to the router.

The experience with the remote access is mostly ok, but when I try to play any video (from VLC, media player, youtube, etc) the fps are completely off, they charge slowly and one by one which makes it appear like an extreme tearing effect.

The problem is not about setting up a network or connecting the pc to the tv. The remote access works, as well as screen sharing. The problem is that while using remote access, the videos I play don't work properly. The sound is correct but the image has extreme tearing, like the frames are charged really slow.

I use other PC's to connect to this computer everyday so I know rdp is working fine. My TV is connected via ethernet as is the remote computer but, despite several attempts, the TV always fails to connect. Can anyome help?

Hi Paul, I am not sure sure why you think it would be slow; everything is connected through gigabit ethernet. I can use remote desktop from another PC or even my Raspberry Pi just fine. I have already been through the link you sent but it is extremely basic. If anyone has any practical experience of using this that would be great. Does this 'feature' actually work or is it just another useless part of the Samsung interface?

What is this Samsung App (Remote Desktop) for if not using it to connect to computers using the RDP protocol? Why do I need Windows RDM? Is it not sufficient to have a simple rdp client app? The link does not provide any meaning help on solving this problem.

Anyway the app is trash. As soon as the update completed, the app would crash to the desktop and give an error. I tried rebooting the phone, I tried adjusting permissions, nothing worked (curiously I got an email acknowledging my phone was added to Samsung Wallet).

But what makes matters worse is uninstalling Samsung wallet and reinstalling Samsung pay is not helpful. I tried doing that and while Samsung pay would install, when you open the app it immediately wants to do the update to Samsung wallet.

GgyI foolishly did a galaxy store update of a number of apps on my Note 10+. One of which was Samsung wallet. I had no idea that it was actually the replacement for Samsung pay.

There does not appear to be a way around it. Now I'm . Can't use my credit cards or debit cards or anything that I would normally use Samsung pay for.
Anyone have a fix?olm://message-contents/AQADAAAAyQAAAAAAAAAAFdUoAAAAAAAA1AAAAAAAEp9yAAAAAAAo1RUAAAAAABKfcgMAAIADAAAAJWF0c3RlY2gwOUB5YWhvby5jb21fSW50ZXJuZXRZYWhvb19IeFM%3D/fullBody?runId=UFBZ#

The first iteration of Samsung DeX, launched in early 2017, required a docking accessory (DeX Station or DeX Pad) to power the software and connect the peripherals. With the launch of the Note9 in August 2018, Samsung eliminated the need for these docking accessories with the introduction of the DeX HDMI adapter, cable and multiport adapter.

With the launch of the Note20, Samsung introduced wireless DeX, which allows DeX to be used without a cable on Smart TVs featuring Miracast, as long as both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

The other option for wired DeX on PC is a regular USB-C to USB-A charging cable. You likely already have one for charging your device. Just detach the USB cable from the wall charger and connect it to the USB port on your PC or Mac.

In addition to these adapters, Samsung has also introduced a Smart Keyboard especially for DeX. The Bluetooth keyboard has a dedicated key to instantly launch DeX, as well as function keys for easily switching connectivity between your Galaxy smartphone, tablet and PC.

Wireless DeX works on most Smart TVs that support Miracast, though Samsung Smart TVs released in 2019 or after provide the best experience. Samsung launched a lineup of Smart Monitors featuring Miracast, which are ideal for creating a wireless DeX workstation. The Smart Monitor line includes 24-inch, 27-inch and 32-inch displays.

To use wireless DeX, first go into screen mirroring mode on your TV or monitor. Then, on your phone or tablet, pull down the Quick Settings and tap DeX. Now select the TV or monitor you want to cast to.

Quick Settings menu: At the far right is the Quick Settings menu (the one you normally access by swiping down from the top of your device). Here you can view battery life, Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity, as well as the time and date. Tap any one of these to expand the menu and adjust your settings.

Customizing your DeX home screen: Customizing your DeX home screen works just like it does on your mobile device. Select and drag apps from your Apps tray onto your home screen and position them in any order you like. To change your wallpaper in DeX, tap once with two fingers on your touchpad (or right click on your mouse) to access the customizer menu, then select any image from your Gallery.

For individuals, DeX is a great way to work more flexibly. Instead of booting up your laptop to catch up on work at home, just connect your phone or tablet to a monitor and get straight to work. You can run up to five apps at once and easily complete most tasks without hassle.

Even businesses that still rely on legacy Windows apps without mobile or web versions should consider using DeX. You can leverage a virtual desktop app, like VMware, Citrix or Amazon WorkSpaces, to access a full Windows desktop within DeX.

Samsung and VMware recently announced the addition of second screen support for virtualized Windows PC desktop environments running in DeX. The jointly developed capability enables Galaxy Tab S9 series, S23 series, and other flagship Galaxy tablets or mobile devices to display a VMware-virtualized Windows PC environment on a connected monitor while enabling movement of content across screens.

Mobile computing is already transforming productivity across diverse industries, and businesses of all sizes will want to get on board sooner rather than later. Samsung DeX gives you a ready-made solution with reliable security built in.

Since the launch of Galaxy S8 and S8+, Samsung Galaxy flagship devices have supported the Samsung DeX feature that extends the functionality of a mobile device into the desktop environment. In this Code Lab, you will learn how to optimize their Android apps for the next-gen Samsung devices with enhanced interaction, desktop mode capability, and a better app experience.

One of the advantages of Samsung DeX is that it does not require any SDKs to launch apps in Samsung DeX. However, apps must support mouse functionality and multi-density. For better UX in DeX mode, apps must adhere to a number of Android best practices, such as multi-window feature support. Desktop mode includes all the advanced multitasking features built in to the Samsung DeX UI. You can learn these through the tips and detailed instructions of this Code Lab.

Samsung DeX for PC is the next feature of Samsung DeX, giving you an uninterrupted experience between your phone and your computer, which is available for both Windows OS. Here, you can share a PC monitor, keyboard, and mouse on DeX for PC.

To run your app in Samsung DeX, there is a minimum requirement. If apps block fake touch input in DeX mode while allowing touch input, you may not use apps with a mouse or touchpad. Here, you need to check whether the code for disabling mouse and keyboard interaction support are in the manifest or not.

Resizing the window causes runtime configuration changes similar to changing an orientation from portrait to landscape display. This may result in the application being forced to restart whenever resizing the window. The app shows a toast message whenever an app is created. Therefore, after resizing, apps always show it and the sentence of text1 would be reset.

To ensure that this does not happen, add a configChanges flag to the activity in the manifest. You can get more information from Android's guide related to handling configuration changes as well as Android's best practices on building a responsive design.

Adding flags in manifest needs to be implemented because onConfigurationChanged callback method is called whenever configuration changes happen. Sample application already has the method, named updateWindowSize(), to check the size (width and height) of window and update the TextView (R.id.txt1) for showing the size of window.

Your app can check whether Samsung DeX is enabled or not in mobile device. It is one of the most useful features of Samsung DeX. If your device supports Samsung DeX, and it is enabled, you can customize your app for DeX Mode. Your app can also check whether it is running in your phone or in DeX mode. In this case, you can customize your app to work differently depending on the mode it is using.
