Fine support and trail feel; upper body weakness
By Blue Ridge Runner
I have a low volume, narrow foot and, once I ordered the next size up, the custom sizing with the enclosed custom insoles worked superbly to provide an excellent fit and feel for the trail. Used for quick hiking, not running, they hit that ambulatory sweet spot of protective, efficient, nimble. And yet, friends I have yet to meet, I say with regret that these lovely shoes compare with a beautiful girlfriend who is also a hypochrondriac. Handle with care for best results. While the sole and midsole seem very durable, the lacing system is not. The third time out, I noticed the second level of eyelets from the top (just thinly reinforced with plastic ridges) were wearing rapidly and at this rate would soon pull through the vinyl and nylon backing. I liked the other aspects of the design so much that I took them to a cobbler for ad hoc reinforcement, hoping that preventative strengthening will add longevity. Your mileage may vary.

Amazing Shoe!
By Jay T Weinstein
I love shoes, but regardless of the benefits of the different attributes of any shoe, without correct fit, all is for naught. This shoe, besides everything else, is designed to fit well! The interchangeable orthotics allows for a precision fit for each foot! My left foot is slightly differently sized than my right, but with this shoe I am able to fit both extremely well. The tongue of the shoe has grooves so the laces can fit them perfectly so there is a snug, perfectly placed tongue that won't slide around. The eyelits are reinforced and have a sticky rubber material on the outside so the laces can be tied to the perfect tightness without slippage. The shoe also supports your feet very well. The Vibram soul consists of a harder material than usual that is less likely to wear as quickly. I love the styling of shoe! The shoes are very light. The only one potential downside would be breatheability, but we'll see. I just recently received these shoes and only walked
around with them in my house, but I am very hopeful and excited! I wish Salewa would begin creating tennis shoes. They are definitely an intelligent shoe maker. I imagine they would be a market leader in virtually any shoe niche.

Great Shoe
By do-ron-ron
Salewa Wildfire is light and has good traction. I wear it as an everyday shoe and in the gym. I also have the Salwe Mtn. Trainer but they are too heavy and don't have a different sole that is as good for everyday use or in the gym.
