After a brief run under the brand name "Voyageur," Sweasy changed the name to Vasque in 1971 (for Fort Vasquez in the mountain mecca of Colorado). And no, the rest is not history. Not Gore-Tex

These boot are comfortable and waterproof but are not real Gore-Tex boots. They definitely do not breath. I've purchased many pairs of gore-tex boots because I have very sweaty feet. The gore tex lining is the only thing that keeps them dry all day.
My feet are soaked half way through the day in these boots. They don't breath so my feet get soggy. I recently bought some moisture wicking socks but they don't help a whole lot. Looks like I'm going to look for new boots.

Exactly what he needed

We purchased these for our son that was going to be hiking the jungle in Costa Rica. Very well made, light, good traction on the bottom and ankle support / protection. We were very pleased!

Enjoy the outdoors and hiking ,wanted Gore TEX!! Found these on Amazon, best price I could find .
Wasn't sure about the style (color and such) .I was really was surprised when I got these ,better than I had expected ,fit and quality are great. Not too heavy nor are they lacking support.
Certainly will be making more purchases of these type of hiking boots here.
