Although it still feels like winter this week, spring is approaching quickly so we are now starting "Hike for Life season"!   Please join us this coming Saturday (see invitation).

AN INVITATION FOR THIS SATURDAY

The board of the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference invites you to the annual members' meeting on Saturday, March 18th at 12 noon at the Cold Spring Harbor library. We will be in the large meeting room downstairs. Come hear about invasive species, and share your ideas about the LIGTC!

As usual, refreshments will be served. The library is located on NY 25A, north of the junction with NY 108 and west of the Cold Spring Harbor business district.

All are welcome!  Current, prospective, and past Greenbelt members... please join us!!

Prior to the meeting, you can get your blood flowing with a 10:00 AM hike in the hills of our Nassau-Suffolk Trail.  Chuck will lead the hike, approximately 4 miles.  Meet at the trailhead parking lot just north of the library.  (Rain or snow cancels hike; call Chuck 516-906-2733 that morning if unsure.)

UNOFFICIAL FIRST TRAINING HIKE NEXT SUNDAY

Sunday, March 26 Trailview to Cold Spring Harbor and Back

A great workout in the woods. We will do an out-and-back from the Trailview Parking Lot all the way to Cold Spring Harbor library and back. Bring water, lunch, and trail snacks. A hiking pole is
recommended. Heavy rain cancels, light rain does not; call morning of hike if unsure. Directions: I-495 (L.I.E.) Exit 44N. Merge onto NY-135 N toward Syosset. Take exit 14 E (Rte. 25 or Jericho Turnpike) toward Woodbury. Turn right onto 25. Continue to the Trailview Parking Lot on your left just east of the Stop and Shop.
