Spring is coming... and with that brings the annual fun of Hike for Life!
This year, we're changing it up a bit. Some new adventures to go with a new name!
Please mark your calendars for Saturday, May 12, 2018.
The Hike for Life - Hug A Trail event will raise awareness and funds for our very own LI Greenbelt Trail Conference this year, in support of efforts to advocate for and maintain the many miles of beautiful trails we have here on Long Island.
2018 represents the LI Greenbelt Trail Conference's 40th birthday, so it is certainly a year to celebrate!
In honor of the BIG 4-0, the Hike for Life - Hug A Trail long distance hike will be a 40K, starting in Blydenburgh County Park at the LI Greenbelt Trail Conference office at 8:00am.
For those wishing to do a more modest distance, there will be a 10K beginning at 1:00pm at the same location.
In the late afternoon, both hikes will conclude back at the starting point and all participants can share some birthday cake, beverages, and fun surprises!
In addition to hikers at this event, we also need sponsors and volunteers. If you own or work for a company that would like to sponsor or donate the t-shirts, water/beverages, or food of any type, please contact us as soon as possible.
If you are able to volunteer help before the event, or on May 12, please let us know and we'll match up time, interest, and availability!
Please remember that this is a 40th birthday celebration, so we will request a gift of $40 per hiker to help LI Greenbelt Trail Conference continue to hug trails for all of us to enjoy! (Online registration site coming soon, so stay tuned...)
