"The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation," ( Quran 55:5)

Assalaamu Alaikkum wa Rahmathullaahi wa Barakaathu hu

As you all are aware, the hilaal was reported as seen on Sunday (10 Feb)

the Day of Conjunction.  You would also have read our earlier mail dated 

12 R. Thani 1434  (Friday - 22 Feb) titled " Hilaal photo from Los Angeles" 

in which this particular sighting report was analysed.

In this context, we would like to remind you about the following

verse from Noble Quran:

"The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation," (55:5)

In the above verse Almighty Allah declares categorically that there is no erratic 

movement of Sun and Moon and that they move with precise calculation, till the End.  

The word used in the above verse is "bi hus'banin" and the root is 'ha-sin-ba'.

The meanings of the word with this root are : "to number/count/compute/

calculate a thing, to reckon, to measure, to account". 

You all are requested to ponder over the verse "The sun and the moon [move]

 by precise calculation," (55:5)" and also the following verse where the word 

from the same root is used:

"(He is the) Cleaver of the daybreak. He has appointed the night for resting, 

and the sun and the moon for reckoning. Such is the measuring of 

the Almighty, the All-Knowing (6:96)

We are quoting from  Tafsir Ibn Kathir the following:

(...And the sun and the moon for reckoning.) means, the sun and the moon 

have specific orbits, according to a term appointed with magnificent precision 

that never changes or alters. Both the sun and the moon have distinct positions 

that they assume in summer and winter, effecting changes in the length 

of night and day. 

Allah said in other Ayat,

(It is He Who made the sun a shining thing and the Moon as a light and 

measured out stages for it.) - Quran 10:5

Explaining the Verse 6:96, Ibn Kathir (Rah) says further quoting verse 16:12:

"Such is the measuring of the Almighty, the All-Knowing." means, all of 

this occurs according to the decree and due measurement of the Almighty 

Who is never resisted or contradicted. He is the Knower of all things and 

nothing ever escapes His knowledge, not even the weight of an atom on 

earth or in heavens. Allah often mentions the creation of the night, 

the day, the sun and the moon and then ends His Speech by mentioning 

His attributes of power and knowledge, as in this Ayah above ﴿6:96

UNQUOTE

We are sure that  you all will accept the fact that the creation of the night, 

the day, the sun and the moon are all Signs of Almighty Allah.

As by your own reports, you all will also accept the truth that the Day of Conjunction 

was the last day of Rabbiul Awwal 1434 and that the hilaal got established on the 

Conjunction Day (Sunday) and that new month of Rabbiul Thani 1434 started on Monday. 

All those who believe and accept the truth on the Quran Verse "The sun and the 

moon [move] by precise calculation," (55:5) and  also on the above quoted 

explanations from Tafsir Ibn Kathir,  cannot deny the fact that Sun and moon move 

by precise calculation and repeats the start of the new month, every month, 

till the end of this world, on the next day of Conjunction.  Please ponder on the 

highlighted portions above which demand all of us to accept the truth - the truth that 

"The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation," (55:5). 

The above knowledge and the explanations from Tafsir Ibn Kathir 

empower us to calculate in advance the start of each new month as 

on the next day of conjunction, every month. ALHUMDULILLAH !!

You all have admitted to and accepted this truth,   by starting

 Rabbiul Thani 1434 on Monday.  Now, it is your bound duty to continue

using the same rule in starting the new months, in future,  from the next day 

of conjunction as "The sun and the moon [move] by precise 

calculation," (55:5) and not to insist on seeing the hilaal in order to 

start the new month, which is a Bid'ah.

If any of you or anyone else still insist on following the above Bid'ah, it means that

according to them the Sun and move do not move by precise calculation. 

In that case, the onus is on such people to prove as incorrect  what Almighty Allah

has said in Quran  (NAUDUBILLAH). We seek refuge in Almighty Allah

from any such temptations from Iblees and request you all  and warn you 

too not to fall into the traps of Iblees.

Almighty Allah is Sufficient for all of us.

May Almighty Allah bestow on all of us the knowledge to accept His Signs. Aameen.

May Almighty Allah forgive all our sins, errors and faults and may He, the Almighty

provide a place for all of us in Jannathul Firdouse. Aameen.
