(BISMILAAHI R'RAHMAANI R'RAHEEM)
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Assalaamu alaikkum wa Rahmathullaahi wa Barakaathu hu
Yesterday (Saturday) was 6th day of Rabbiul Aakhir. The moon was not exactly half but had a
slight concavity. The illumination was just 45%.
But Today (Sunday) at Magrib we can see the half moon overhead with a very minute bulge in
the middle.
This confirms that today is 7th day and also teaches us that this month has
only 29 days.
Alhumdulillah! All Praises to Almighty Allaah for giving this knowledge to us. In fact
anyone can acquire this knowledge by observing all the phases of the moon continuously
for 5 to 6 months.
More over it is Sunnah to observe all the phases of Moon throughout the year especially
those of Sha'baan as it was the Sunnah of Rasool ( Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam ).
When we remind about this Sunnah some, who think that members of Hijri Committee (HCI)
depend only on calculations, used to criticise us. They do not realise that HCI is only against
their Bid'ah of searching the SETTING moon on the western sky on their own wrongly counted
day of 29 and also against the false declarations of sighting the hilaal when the Sun set - Moon set
difference was 10 minutes or 4 minutes or even just 2 minutes !!!
HCI is also against the Bid'ah of starting the month after the day-light part of the first
day is over. This day-light part of the first day is very, very important which if we
ignore ends up in Feasting on the day of fast and also ends up in committing
the haraam act of fasting on Eid day NAUDUBILLAAH !!!
HCI not only encourages observation of all the phases of the moon but strongly also believes
the TRUTH that Islaam prescribes a predetermined, calculated error-free Calendar which
can be calibrated for thousands of years , backwards as well as forwards. Maasha Allaah !!
We request all to observe the moon today as well as throughout the year.
May Almighty Allaah forgive all our sins and may HE the Almighty provide all of us with a
place in Jannathul Firdouse. Aameen
Wa salaam
