Dear Br. Sultan Alam

Assalaamu Alaikkum wa Rahmathullaahi wa Barakaathu hu

Your mail clearly shows that you are trying to findout some alibi to
justify your error.

Any astronomer will vouch that the Full Moon will never occur when the moon age
is 12 days !!!

Not only in this month but in the past too on many occasions your calendar showed
Full Moon falling on 12th and we have been telling you about this for many years.
In 1433 itself you had Full Moon on 12th  during Shabaan,  Shawwal, Dhul Qa'da,  Zul Hijjah.

Only this time you came up with the alibi that at 10:58 GMT, it was not Full Moon in Pakistan!!
You claim to be an astronomer and such a statement coming from you was least expected.

You know very well that the Full Moon, Conjuntion & Eclipses are all Universal Phenomena
and they should be expressed and considered according to the Universal Time and Universal Day.
It is the Hindu traditions to convert the time of Conjunction, Full Moon & eclipses into
local time so that their rituals are performed coinciding with the time of these
celestial phenomena.  How come you have succumbed to their beliefs and traditions??
NAUDUBILLAH !!

Your dates are not tallying with the moon-phases and hence are contrary to Quran.

We would like to have your answers for the following questions, at the earliest:

1)  Quran says that the phases of moon are the dates.  True or False ?

2)  When  calculation of sun is used for the prayer timing, can we use the calculation

of moon for starting the new month? If "No",  provide proofs from Quran and authentic hadeeth.

3)  Quran says that stages (manaazil) of the moon is for calculating the moon-age and

for counting the years.  True or False ?

4)   Quran says that the last visible phase of moon is “Urj Oonil Qadeem”.  True or False ?

 5)   Quran and hadeeth says that the 24-hour period in Islam starts at Fajr.  True or False ?

For Ques 4 & 5, if your answers are "FALSE", please provide proofs from Quran and authentic hadeeth
 to prove your stand.

Usually those who insist on seeing the hilaal in order to start the month quote the tail-end
of a hadeeth. They never quote the full text.

About the tail-end of the hadeeth, "... Soomu li ruyiathi hi ,,,," we have explained umpteen
times what it implies.  But still you, who is a "Mufti" do not understand it. It is surprising.
Or are you pretending unawareness?? If one is asleep, we can easily wake him up.
But, if someone is pretending, then it is humanly impossible.

We are re-producing the explanation once again. (Others please pardon us for repetition  !!)

“Soomoo li ru’uyathihi…..”  is a portion of the Hadhees  which explains the verse 2:189,

“Yas’aloonaka anil Ahillathi qul hiya mawaakeethu linnasi wal hajji”, meaning

“They ask you about the phases of the moon, tell them they are dates for the people and Hajj”.

Asbabul Nuzul of Verse 2:189, clearly states that the Sahaba (RA) were asking about the

waxing and waning phases of the moon.

Thafseer Ibn Kathir explains quoting the full-text of the Hadhees  “Ja’alallahul ahillatha

mawaakeetha linnasi fa soomoo li ru’uyathihi wa afthiroo li ru’uyathihi, ......

(Allah has appointed phases of the moon as dates for the people, so fast according to its view

and celebrate Eidul Fitre according to its view .....).

"Hi" means not crescent as conceived by the majority. It is the 'moon with its phases'.

Quran which came to lead people from darkness to light will not lead

them to darkness.

We can see how Dr.  Yusuf Qaradawi explains this Hadhees.

He says:“In the language of the faqeeh, we might say that the hadith both

indicates an objective and specific means for achieving it. The objective in the

hadith is clear, to fast the entire month of Ramadan without missing a single day,

or without fasting in a month other than Ramadan, like Sha’ban or Shawwal.

And that is to take place through ascertaining the beginning of the new

month, and the end of the old one, by any means possible, so long as such

means are available to the general populace without causing them hardship

or difficulty in their religion.”

In Quran 2:189, Almighty Allah says that the "Ahillah" are the dates for the mankind and

for Hajj.  Why "Hajj" was mentioned?

Hajj has to be performed on 6 fixed days - Zul Hijja 8th to 13th and dates must tally

with 8th to 13th moon phases.  Subuhaanallah !!

You have also written that "Those All people are wrong (ضال، گمراہ) who says that starting
the month after seeing the hilaal is Bida’t."

If it is a Sunnah, why cannot you produce atleast one authentic
hadeeth which says that the Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam)
ever went in search of the hilaal on the western sky or asked the
Sahaba (RA) to do so.

Till you or anyone else produce such a hadeeth, the
sighting of hilaal in order to start the new month
is a Bid'ah.

We request you to stop propagating a Bid'ah.

If new months have to be started on seeing the hilaal, you have to agree that there will
be a minimum of three calendars in the world.   If that is what Islam implies,
how can Lailathul Qadar which falls on the odd day in the last ten days occur
in this world ?? If it is odd day for a few, it will be even for others !!

So, it is crystal clear that the sighting of the hilaal is not the criteria to start
the new month nor it is the one advised by our beloved Prophet
(Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) as such a criteria compels the Muslims
to have a minimum of three calendars, with odd and even dates for a single week-day !!

You all have misunderstood the word "Ru'uya"  in the above quoted hadeeth.
You say that it means only "seeing" ! It does not only mean "seeing with naked eye".

The word ‘Ru’uya’ is from the verb “ra’aa” which means ‘to see’ or ‘understand‘.
The word ra’aa is used in many places in Quran in different meanings - to see,
to know,  to understand etc.    ‘Ru’uya’ the noun form of “ ra’aa ”  can be translated
as “sight, view, appearance” etc in English. In Quran it is used in both the meanings
“to see” as well as to “understand".

The Quran explains Ra’aa in its different meanings beautifully in verse 37:102

“And when his son was old enough to walk about with him he said:

Oh, my son. I have seen (Araa) in a dream that I am slaughtering you.

So look, what do you think (tharaa) ! He said: ‘Oh, my father !

Do what you are commanded, you shall find me Insha Allah

among the patient’ ”.

We must interpret words in Hadhees  without contradicting Quran.

Sahaba (RA) were following the Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) who
observed the phases of the moon throughout the year, especially the month
of Shabaan.  But those who insist on sighting the moon search for it only on
three or four occasions !!!

They (RA) were also not like you who start the month on the 2nd or 3rd day
of the month and get Full Moon on 12th !!!!

What you have to say about the Solar eclipse falling on your 27th day
of Zul Hijjah 1433 ?????  How will you justify about your wrong calendar??
Hope you  will accept the fault  and repent to Almighty Allah.

Ahmadiyyas (Qadiyaanis)  who are not within the fold of Islam claim that
solar eclipse will fall on 27th or 28th.   Your calendar is supporting their claim !!!!
Either you correct your calendar  or your stand  indirectly implies as correct
the ideology/claim of Ahmadiyyas (Qadiyaanis). NAUDUBILLAH !!

Realise your mistake  !! Repent  !!  Life is short  !!

May Almighty Allah forgive all our sins, errors and faults and may He, the Almighty
provide all of us with a place in Jannathul Firdouse.  Aameen

Wa Salaam

Our prophet Sallallaho-alaihi-wasallam said:

We all know that here ro’yat means is actual sighting not calculation because prophet Sallallaho-alaihi-wasallam did not use calculations to start Islamic month as he said:
إنا أمة أمية لا نكتب ولا نحسب الشهر هكذا وهكذا
يعني مرة تسعة وعشرين ومرة ثلاثين
Sahabah always used to start the months by sighting not by calculation.
PS:
Those All people are wrong (ضال، گمراہ) who says that starting the month after seeing the hilaal is Bida’t.
I don’t like to communicate with such persons.
Nowadays emailing and answering is difficult for me as well.

Subject: Repent ! Ask for Forgiveness for committing "Nassie" !!!

Dear Br. Sultan Alam

Assalaamu Alaikkum wa Rahmathullaahi wa Barakaathu hu

Today (Monday) is the Full Moon and the date as per the moon-phases
is 14th of Zul Hijjah.

But you have started this month on Thursday and according to you today's date
is 12th !!!!!

How can a Full Moon occur on the 12th day of a month ???

We have been asking you this question for several years, but you who
start the new months after seeing the hilaal and who regularly get
Full Moon on your 12th have not answered us. The worst part is that
you have not relaised (or is it intentional?) the mistake and keep on
propagating the Bid'ah of starting the month after seeing the hilaal.

We have also been asking you to provide authentic hadeeeth which
says that the Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) ever went in search
of a hilaal on the western sky or asked the Sahaba (RA) to do so.  As long
as you are unable to quote  such a hadeeth, you and all who start the
months after seeing the hilaal on the western sky are indulged in Bid'ah.

We would like to get views of  Br. Omar Afzal,  Br. Khalid Shaukat &  Br. Sheikh
Zafar Salman also on this Bid'ah.  They are also welcome to provide such a
hadeeth to prove their stand.

We have also warned you about the gravity of your misdeed and its consequences
and obstacles created by your unwise, unfounded acts in the spread of
Islam.

How can you explain to the non-muslims when they ask why they are being
invited to a religion which has a calendar showing the Full Moon occurring
on a 12th ???

The Full Moon on 14th also indicates that this month will end with 29 days
on Tuesday.

Those who have started this month on Wednesday are also equally liable for
presenting Islam in an inappropriate way.

On Tuesday, 29th day as per the moon-phases, (13 Nov) there is a Total
Solar Eclipse.  Solar Eclipse marks the end of a month.   Through  a
Solar Eclipse,  Almighty Allah is clearly showing the mankind, how a month
ends and when a new month starts. In fact visually showing what Quran says
in 36:40, "It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, ...".

It is the moon which overtakes the sun.

This is exactly what is happening during Conjunction & Eclipse. Subhaanallah !!

The beauty is that this verse follows the one which describes the "Urj Oonil Qadeem".
Allahu Akbar !! Almighty Allah has vividly described in sequence  the "Urj" which
is the last visible phase of the moon and the conjunction (It is not for the sun to overtake
the moon, .....)   following the "Urj".

"Fabiayyi alaai rabbikumaa tukaththibaan "  (Then which of the Blessings
of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?)

The Total Solar Eclipse of Tuesday (13 Nov) is a Sign of Almighty Allah.

Those who have started this month on Wednesday will have a date of 28 on this
Eclipse day and those who started it on Thursday will have a date of 27  !!!

We are sorry to tell that both the groups are in error. They have openly transgressed
the limits.  Our beloved Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) has prescribed
a minimum of 29 days for a month.  But, both these groups have gone contrary to
an authentic hadeeth and their months will end  either with 28  or 27 days !!!
NAUDUBILLAH.

We request all who have started Zul Hijjah on Wednesday and Thursday
to repent and ask for forgiveness from Almighty Allah, for indulging in a Bid'ah
and for committing "Nassie".

We warn all that if the dates are not corrected immediately, they will
start the month of Muharram on wrong days,  again committing
"Nassie" which is 'ziadathun fil kufr" (Quran 9:37).

They should be aware of the impending danger in committing the same sin repeatedly,
even after being warned.

May Almighty Allah forgive all our sins, faults and errors and may He, the Almighty
provide all of us with a place in Jannathul Firdouse.  Aameen

 Wa Salaam
