ವೆಂಕಿ ವೆಂಕಿ ವೆಂಕಿ.. ಹ್ಯಾಪಿ ಬರ್ತ್ಡೇ

ನ್ಯಾಷನಲ್ ಹೈ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಬಸವನಗುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ  ಶಾಲಾ ದಿನಗಳು... 

ಇನ್ನೂ ಬಾಲ್ಯದ ಹಂಗು ಕಳೆದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.. ಯಾವುದೋ ಒಂದು "ಶುಭ" ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವನು ನನಗೆ ಹೊಡೆದ 

ನಾನು ಇವನಿಗೆ ಬಾರಿಸಿದೆ.. 

ಸುಮಾರು ಮೂರು ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಿಂಗಳು "ಮಾತಿಲ್ಲ ಕಥೆಯಿಲ್ಲ ಬರಿ ರೋಮಾಂಚನ"

ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಒಂದು ತಮಾಷೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು.. ಆಟೋಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾ ಗುಡ್ ಫಾರ್ ನಥಿಂಗ್.. 

ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಇತ್ತು.. ಆದರೆ ಆಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದ  ಚಾಕಚಕ್ಯತೆ ಅಂದಿಗೂ ಹಿಟ್ಟೇ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಹಿಟ್ಟೇ.. ಪೂರ್ಣ ಸೊನ್ನೆ 

ಬಿಡುವಿನ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಆಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು.. 

ದಿನವೂ ಇವನು ತನಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಆಟಗಾರರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ.. ತಮಾಷೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಮೊದಲನೇ ಆಟಗಾರ ನಾನೇ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ.. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ರೇಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.. ನನ್ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಮಾತಾಡೋಲ್ಲ.. ಆದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇವನೇ ಬೇಕು ಇವನಿಗೆ ಅವನೇ ಬೇಕು.. 

ಇವನು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.. ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಬೆರಳು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ.. ನಾ ಅವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ.. 

ಆಟದಲ್ಲೂ ನಾವಿಬ್ಬರೇ "ಓಪನಿಂಗ್" ಆಟಗಾರರು.. .. ಬರಿ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಲ್ಲೇ ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆ.. 

ಇಂದಿಗೂ ನೆನೆಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ನಗು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.. ಅದೇಕೆ ನಾವಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಅಷ್ಟು ಹತ್ತಿರ ಎಂದು.. ಉತ್ತರ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ.. 

ಇವನಿದ್ದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಂಚ ಪಾಂಡವರ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನಗುವಿನ ಹೊಳೆ. ಯಾರನ್ನು ಇವನು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಇರಲು ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.. 

ನಗಿಸಿ, ರೇಗಿಸಿ, ಹುಚ್ಚು ಹತ್ತುವಂತೆ ಬಯ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಒಂದು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ನಂತೆ ಹಿಡಿದು ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.. 

ನಾವಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಸಂಜೆ ಹೊತ್ತು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಬಜ್ಜಿ ಬೋಂಡ ಇಡ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರಾನ್ನ ಕಾಫಿ ಸಮಾರಾಧನೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತೆ.. 

ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇವನ ಮಡದಿ ಸೌಮ್ವ್ಯ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್ ಅವರೇ ನೀವೇ ಇವರ ಮೊದಲ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಎಂದು.. ಹಹಹಹಃ 

ಇಂಥಹ ಮುದ್ದು ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಂಚ ಪಾಂಡವರ ಸ್ನೇಹಕೂಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನರ್ಘ್ಯ ರತ್ನ.. 

ವೆಂಕಿ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಬ್ಬದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು ನಿನಗೆ... ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ಹಾಟ್ಸ್ ಆಫ್ ನಿನಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ನಗುವಿನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ..

Oh, how nostalgic to remember on this day our childhood, the crazy things we did, running immediately after the bell rang to run and grab the basketball poll for cricket, innumerable quarrels, but above all the plain and simple way to express our natural self ... brings back how we have been having this special bond ...
