Folks,

Please come and see why some view Mayor Wu's plan to address decades of racism that perpetrated the decline of White Stadium with more racism, in a film by Sabrina Salvati titled "REMOVED: Black Erasure in Boston." The film will be shown at RCC (Building #3) tomorrow (Saturday) at 3pm.

The film features community activists opposed to the exploitation of Franklin Park in a predominantly Black and Brown community by a private soccer franchise, and supporting a fully public option for BPS owned White Stadium.

Thanks for this. Regretfully, I’m going to be out of town, but it looks like a very interesting film. Do you know if it’s available to watch online? It would also be great to be able to share it with others who can’t attend. Film is such an effective way to communicate important issues.

REMOVED: Black Erasure in Boston is being publicly shown again (for free) at the Universalist Unitarian Urban Ministry this Tuesday from 5-7pm. 

Sponsored by the Franklin Park Defenders, the evening will focus on the ongoing struggle to keep our much-loved Franklin Park out of the hands of private developers and politicians who have little concern for the Black and Brown community. (The Franklin Park Defenders are proposing an alternative plan, for a smaller, high-school sized fully public stadium for use by the Boston Public Schools athletes and residents of Boston).

It's a new year, and the conversation is moving forward: 
The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court (SJC) has agreed to review an appeal filed by opponents of the White Stadium renovation plan AND the state officially dropped its plan with Boston Medical Center (BMC) to redevelop the Shattuck Hospital site into a large recovery campus.

There's still time for a community-based conversation about what plans best serve the taxpayers of Boston.
