FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Crash investigators are asking for the community’s assistance in locating the older model light-colored SUV that struck and critically injured a pedestrian on Capitol View Avenue between Alhambra Circle and Jones Avenue in East Nashville on the night of November 3rd.

The investigation shows that the SUV, probably a Ford Explorer, was traveling east on Capitol View Avenue when it struck Lee Bronson, Jr., 43, of Sherwood Lane, who was walking on the edge of the roadway.  A witness reported that the SUV struck Bronson, swerved to the left and continued on.  The vehicle sustained a broken headlight and likely additional moderate damage to the front passenger side.

Bronson remains in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Anyone with information on the SUV and/or its driver is urged to contact the police department’s Traffic Unit at 862-7738 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.  Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com.  Persons who contact Crime Stoppers by phone, text or Internet can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
