MAKERS OF FURNITURE
The City of Cape Town has partnered with the South African Furniture Initiative to pilot a Furniture Light Manufacturing Support Programme.
The Furniture Light Manufacturing Support Programme seeks to support micro and small businesses in accessing skills and business support. The programme will also improve their ability to access formal markets by helping to meet the compliance requirements.
Programme Requirements:
• Legal Citizenship in South Africa
• Have been in operation for a minimum of 12 months
• Minimum Grade 9 / standard 7 school certificate.
• You have to be a local wood maker of furniture - cupboards, tables, desks, etc.
• Preference will be given to businesses based in the Delft, Belhar, Wesbank and Mfuleni, areas.
• The services provided for Business support will differ based on the diagnostic assessment of each business.
The programme is free but businesses will be required to attend a
1 hour briefing session on 9th December 2021 to complete
a commitment agreement.
