Hello,

I would appreciate very much if you can help to send this postdoc position ad (attached below) to the megabar email list.  Please let me know if you have further questions.  Thanks!

Best,

Yue Meng

HPCAT, X-ray Science Division

Argonne National Lab

Postdoctoral researcher in high-pressure materials research at X-Ray Science Division, Argonne National lab

A postdoctoral position is available at HPCAT, X-ray Science Division (XSD), Argonne National Laboratory (ANL). The position will be funded by ANL's Laboratory Directed Research & Development (LDRD) Program, and it is a full-time research position with no beamline user support expected.  This position is in support of an interdisciplinary project where the postdoc will work in collaboration with scientists from XSD's Materials Physics and Engineering group and with ANL's Data Science and Learning Division to study materials in extreme environments with cutting-edge analytical techniques.

The position requires a highly motivated applicant with interests in high pressure and temperature materials research and in developing emerging diffraction-based synchrotron methods.  A Ph.D. in physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Geosciences, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required.  Experience with computer programming for data analysis using e.g. MATLAB or Python is highly desirable.

Address any questions about the position to Yue Meng (ym...@anl.gov) or Maddury Somayazulu (zu...@anl.gov).
