to High Plains Drafters
Had a great meeting Friday with a good turn out.

Business included:

  1. P3 is Sep 29th.  We have been asked to serve homebrew at the after-party.  For those who don't know, it is a bike-based pub crawl hosted by 575 Pizza.  Let Michael know if you would be interested in helping/contributing.
  2. Oktoberfest - the idea was passed around about having an annual club Octoberfest.  I love the idea so we should have one.  Any thoughts from those not in attendance?
  3. The gang at Amarillo Brewing Supply thinks they may be able to get a reasonable rate on etched sample glasses.  More to come
  4. The barrel is ready to be used once again.  We are brewing a Scottish 80 Shilling Ale.  I need to know who is in and how much.  Need to know this week so Shiloh can put in the order.  Thanks.  Michael is already working on the starter.  this needs to be in the barrel soon.
  5. Cactus challenge is also coming up.  Check out Ale-ian Society web page for 1st round judging, etc.  if you want to help out.  They also usually need judges and its great experience.

Beer sampled included:

  1. Dustin brought his first beer he made, a Moose Drool clone.  Not bad.
  2. Dillon brought a hefeweizen.
  3. Arthur brought a dunkelweizen
  4. I brought my SMASH NY beer (6-row, calypso, american farmhouse blend), my Blackberry melomel that survived a 4.5 year secondary, and Estival Stout from Ska brewery from latest travels to colorado.
  5. Michael brought a dark rye mild and Ska's Modus Hoperondi.  (he followed me there)
  6. Dennis brought a tasty Belgian saisson, some Hennipen from Ommegang brewery and some Watershed IPA from Oakshire brewery in Washington state.
  7. Nick brought Founders Centinneal IPA from Founders
  8. John brought some dirty bastard.  He also brought Dirty Bastard from Founders  (just kidding).  He had a pomegranite wine and an apfelwein as well
  9. Rick brought Hawaiin Belgian Stout.  seriously, it exists

This concludes my secretarial duties.  Thank you.

Brian

Octoberfest would be awesome (from someone who was not in attendance).  I'm in for 5 gallons of the 80 shilling.

Cheers,

I used to have Dustin's phone number.  I'll try.  Put me in for 10 on the 80 shilling.
