to High Plains Drafters
Had a good turnout friday with about 13 showing up, including a couple of new gents.  Welcome!

1.   Dues are due.  Please get your $20 to Mark Hewes - it's a bargain.
2.  There was a discussion of changing the location of the meetings.  Perhaps I Don't Know?  Michael will talk to the IDK guys to see if that's a possibility.  Mariposa is working, but it means that Michael always has to be there no matter what - and be the first to arrive and last to leave.
3.  There was a discussion regarding Yellow City's 1.5 barrel pilot system.  The idea was floated that as a club we may contribute to the cost of its construction in return for access to it for group brews, barrel projects etc.  No decisions made as of yet.  We will see what costs we are talking about.
4.  The position of Club Librarian was discussed.  This would be someone who could keep track of what books people in the club had and running a borrowing system.  So we don't spend so much in books.  (too late for me but it might help you)
5.  The barrel project is in kegs - It started out as a wee heavy and ended up sour.  So I guess it's a Wee Sour.  With the souring this barrel is providing - it only makes sense to just make it a belgian barrel.  We would like for the next filling to be a group brew (either together or coordinated on the same day) so that we can get actively fermenting belgian beer in there.  The idea was just for everyone to brew a Belgian of some sort.  More details such as timing to follow.  Let us know if you're interested, though.
6.  Officers - time for some new ones.  Nominate yourself or others.

Beers that made an appearance:
Nick brought Founder's Rye IPA and Voodoo chocolate, peanut butter, banana. (you read that right)
I (Brian) brought my Chicken Bock.
Michael brought his Wee Sour, an IPA, and sort of gluten-free "beer"
John Soto brought a delicious smoked porter
Chance Klein brought a nice coffee porter
Mark hewes brought an IPA and a hefeweizen
James Haynes brought a porter, as did Shiloh.
Dennis brought his chocolate stout and an 80 schilling ale - both very nice
Evan brought his amber - a very nice malty first brew!
Eric (new guy) brought some Laguntis Hop Stoopid and Ska's Modus Hoparandi

Stay tuned to the emails, as the next meeting falls on Feb 14 - which may need to be changed.

Brian, I'll volunteer to be the librarian.

On the next barrel brew, might I suggest we set a date to fill it?  We won't be fermenting in the barrel will we?

Cheers,
