The newly announced Quad Vena integrated amplifier from high-quality audio manufacturer Quad also includes a highly capable DAC. The Vena features a vast range of inputs and outputs, including wireless Bluetooth connectivity. The DAC found within the Vena borrows the same premium-performance 24-bit/192kHz chipset found within Quad's high-end and highly regarded Platinum CD Players. Bluetooth functionality within the unit also supports aptX to ensure a superior sound-quality when using Bluetooth.
The Quad Vena is a highly versatile system hub with connectivity options for a wide variety of sources both analogue and digital. At the heart of the Vena is a high current 45w Class AB amplifier fed by a quality analogue pre-amplification stage. Quad's heritage in creating some of the worlds greatest amplifiers is clearly present here with a smooth and natural sound which is a pleasure to listen to even when driving larger loudspeakers.
While having connectivity for your analogue sources the Vena really offers a great deal when it comes to digital sources. There are optical and coaxial digital inputs for traditional digital audio sources, a USB input for connecting the Vena to your PC or Mac and an additional USB input for connection to iOS devices (iPod, iPhone, iPad). Along with the "plug-in" connectivity options, the Vena is capable of receiving your music wirelessly via Bluetooth with aptX.
