2.  In view of prevailing market scenario, placement efforts are considered to be fairly satisfactory but for the fact that there has been very poor turnout of students at the drives. Some of the Companies have gone back without optimally filling their available vacancies. Turnout at drives by only CS branch has been near satisfactory. That may be the reason, for more than half of CS students are either placed or are in process.

 

3.  Further, the analysis of participation and performance by eligible students during various drives, indicate the followings: -

 

a.         On quite a few of occasions, number of students indicated their willingness to appear at a drive, were far less than expected or eligible. At times students having indicated willingness had actually not attended the drives.

 

b.   Quite a few numbers of students were not able to clear the aptitude test. In view of series of relevant workshops during 5^th, 6^th, 7^th and even in 8^th semester. Turnout on similar workshop for final year students even as recent as 9^th April 2013 was extremely poor. As a last resort T & P had to forward softcopy of study/ practice material to student on         9^th April 2013

c.         On number of occasions students having cleared a stage or even few stages of selection, have not turned up for further stage of selection process. At times it was without any information to T & P or to the faculty coordinators.

 

d.       At times students do not pay attention to the briefing and question & answers sessions by company officials. Hence there remains an ambiguity in minds of selected students. This results into avoidable queries and also depicts careless or carefree attitude of students, to company officials.

 

4.  Feedback from some of the students and its analysis indicates that:-

 

a.         Some of the students are likely to get a job on their own. This is considered extremely good. However, final info on such developments to T & P would help T & P.

 

b.         Some of the students may be planning to start up their own set up.  Such students are complimented and reminded of our existing “Industry Incubator Cell”.

 

c.         Some of the students are planning for higher studies in India or abroad. Such students are also complimented and advised to keep T & P updated on their efforts.

 

 

d.     Last but not the least, unfortunately some of our students do have fear of facing a selection process.

 

5.  Therefore, it clearly emerges that, as of now lack of confidence to do well during the various non technical stages of selection process continue to be the most important grey area. Contents of “Get Set Go” T & P notice dated 6 July 2012 are re-emphasized.

 

6.  Therefore students are reminded to seriously practice through the softcopies of study material on aptitude test/ interview techniques,  issued booklet on Aptitude tests and visit the websites such as www.freshersworld.com, www.campusrecruitment.co, www.indiabix.com, and www.aptitudetestonline.com for through practice to be able to perform better in future drives.
