FOLIO is a nationally recognized literary journal sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences at American University in Washington, DC. Since 1984, we have published original creative work by both new and established authors. If you would like to submit to us in the future, please check out past issues of FOLIO to determine the compatibility of your work with our journal.

We look for well-crafted poetry and prose that is bold and memorable. We want art that challenges. We encourage you to look at a recent issue of FOLIO to determine the compatibility of your work with our magazine. Past issues have included work by Roxane Gay, Michael Reid Busk, Franny Choi, Billy Collins, Ivan Pinkava, Hettie Jones, William Stafford, Bruce Weigl, Yumi Sakugawa, and Ross Gay, as well as interviews with Michael Cunningham, Allen Ginsberg, Charles Baxter, Amy Bloom, Ann Beattie, Walter Kirn, Marie Howe, and Carmen Maria Machado.

FOLIO seeks gritty, exciting, compelling, inspiring art. We now feature comic, graphic novel, paint, photography, and digital art. Featured artists in our most recent issues have included Asaf Hanuka, Yumi Sakugawa, Frank Correa, Ivan Pinkava, Sai Abishek, and Chelsea Martin, to name only a few. When submitting, please include a description of your work and the themes or motivations you are exploring. Submissions can be in any medium and may be printed in color or black and white in high-resolution jpeg or TIFF files at no less than 300 dpi.

The WOOLNUT product lineup just got extended with our new Leather Folios for the 13, 15 and 16-inch MacBook models. These folio sleeves are equipped with YKK Excella premium metal zippers to fully enclose the MacBook in a bed of 100% natural wool. Our regular slip-in sleeves have been our signature product from the start thanks to the superior materials, high-level craftsmanship, and the minimalistic design enabling a tailor-made fit for each and every model of MacBook. All these features still remain in our new folios. And we added a few more on top.

It is believed that 750 First Folios were printed, while 233 are known to have survived; nearly 60 from 30 locations are currently available on the First Folio Compared site, with new folios being added continually. The First Folio contains 36 plays, half of which had not been previously printed. Many of these classic plays, such as Macbeth, Twelfth Night, and The Tempest, might not have survived had they not been included in this influential work. Because of the value of these texts, most are not publicly available, and many were digitized specifically for this project. Contributing partners are libraries, universities, museums, and research institutions across the globe, including the Folger Shakespeare Library, the University of Toronto, the University and City Library of Cologne, and Boston Public Library.

Although readers might expect the First Folios to be identical, this site demonstrates that each work is unique. Some are in excellent condition, while others show considerable wear and tear. Researchers will discover tears, marks, stains, and notes made by readers who were lost to history. Some copies are missing pages, and others show different marks and changes made by individual printers who created the work.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.

I love the On the Go Folio system because I can keep four different books, all together in the same place. Each Petite Journal has notes from a different aspect of my study. I love how organized it feels, but I still have the freedom to just open it up and start writing where I left off.

There are a lot of different journal designs, so I just picked one style for each of my journals and that helps me remember which is which. Also, four seems like a lot until you are using them frequently. If it is something that you are using regularly then you will just start to know which one you want.

But since getting journaling (wide margin) versions, I write most of my notes in my actual scriptures. So this petite journal has become a place for reference type notes. For example, the symbolism of different numbers or colors. Things that apply to many parts, and I might want to reference over and over again.

The Church I belong to has large worldwide meetings (broadcast online) every six months. The leaders of the Church teach us about Jesus Christ and give us guidance and inspiration for our lives at that specific time (and for the following months and even years).

I have been using this book to take notes from each speaker, and write down my favorite quotes. Although I can always go back and look at their exact words (because everything is transcribed), I love being able to see at a glance the parts that stood out most to me.

But it is what it sounds like. I use it to take notes from church in my faith journal. Even from home church or church that is online, I write down the thoughts I have, or thoughts about what I want to discuss with my family.

I did a pen test on my wide margin journaling scriptures and these were the winner. Keep in mine, that paper is much thicker than most scripture paper- you know that thin kind that everything bleeds through? This is more normal paper, and I really loved how the Staedtler TextSurfers wrote on it. Plus they have colors that are more pastel, and less neon (they have the neon ones too though).

Cello Pens are just a basic ball point pen. But they write so smooth and are so inexpensive! (I found them first at the Dollar Tree, and now see them all over. Sometimes with a different name though).

Using the Erin Condren On The Go Folio and Petite Journals, plus my Planny Pack of pens, has been so great for keeping all my spiritual notes together. I always know where to find something, and where to write something. It is easy to carry with me to church or study groups, and I love having all my notes with me wherever I go.
