1Click on Settings (far right next to ?)
2, Choose your x-plane path (browse to it) and click okay to return to main screen
3. Click on the + to enter a new product. A new screen will pop up to enter aircraft
4. Enter your email address, Licence key and click check. Browse to the x-plane path you choose in step 2
5. Click Install. Repeat steps 3 to 5 if you have other ff products to enter in the Path you chose in step 2
If you have x-plane 11 and 12 then repeat all steps again but change the path in step 2 to the one you haven't
installed the new (updated) FF A320 or FF A350. Make sure you click Beta until they are out of beta.
When you want to (or need to) update then go to step 2 to choose the x-plane version you want the aircraft
to update. Select the icon up arrow inside the circle on the menu line to check all products in the version of xplane
you have selected. The Products pane will show which products have updates available. Click on radio button and
the updates will appear in the right pane. Click on the Up arrow in the right pane to update your plane(s).
Do the same for your other x-plane version. the update screen will stay in the path you selected in step 2 and only show planes
in that path. to see you other planes in the other version xplane change it in step 2
Kukeltje.......Got no idea how to disable ipv6. If it's a change in my Sky router...forget it...not messing about with that and again it all worked ok last week and nothing has changed on my Alienware Desktop.
So until x-plane technical support come up with a permanent and meaningful solution, I will either switch my VPN on or temporarily switch off IPV6 before doing the updater and switch it back on again after.
I doubt you will notice any issue with this turned off. I have had it turned off for years and never notice anything. Leave it off and don't worry about. Something changed upstream that most likely is out of your control.
control panel->network and internet -> network sharing center -> wifi (click link labelled with your wifi netwk) -> properties (the one inside the oval) -> checkbox labelled "internet protocol v6 tcp/ipv6"
(2) Laminar absolutely should come up with a solution - this fix is a kludge! Hope I remember this toggle when something else gives me a problem for not having IPV6. I have downloaded many apps, updates, files, etc. via internet, and XP updater is the only one that's given me this trouble.
Thank you for posting, I have the same problem as my dialogue boxes do not match up with those on web posts, neither with yours . I can get a dialogue showing IPV6 but am unable to edit this. Will need to wait for Laminar to fix.
I found similar boxes - I think you're pretty close: if you're up for it, just try poking around various clicking options on path that led to this - also suggest keeping careful notes on the path so that you can readily undo it. good luck!
I have had several contacts with LR on this topic and none worked. Finally their last advise was they know the problem and are working on the fix. I have been unable to locate IPV6 dialogue box to make amendment which is just as well as I am not confident messing with something I know nothing about and could possibly compromise my computer. Patience is the order of the day.
Very, very few providers support it and the 'internet' certainly does not all the way up to the 'peer'. So disabling it is technically it is not a hack but more a 'correction of misconfiguration' (in my humble opinion). Not a misconfiguration by the end-user but one by M$ by automatically enabling it. And no, I cannot imagine you compromise your computer in any way by disabling this. But yes, if you have the patience (great virtue!) use it...
Here is a standalone client fully compatible with existing repositories. It can co-exist with the in-game version but I recommend you only use one. There will probably be no more update for the in-game version since the standalone version allows safe updates of plugins and sceneries (although no such addon is supported at the moment).
The new updater should be easy to use so there's no documentation (yet). If someone is willing to write one, you're welcome.
However, please have a look at the README.txt file inside the zip, there is important information in it and I will not provide support to people who obviously did not read it.
Thank you and great advancement being able to use and run the Updater outside of XPlane.
Functionality seem identical to plugin version, but I guess some of the behind the scenes functionality will differ.
Just one question, I am on Windows and successfully ran the SkunkcraftsUpdater.exe and it created the log file. What are we supposed to do with the SkunkcraftsUpdater.app folder that comes in the Zip file?
Understand, cheers. However I have 2 versions of GF in my Custom Scenery folder (for running GF with and without Orthos and have custom Symlinks to achieve this) and obviously I do not want SU messing with those.
Hey there! Looks like another amazing addon, but before I download it with precious cellular data, I got a question about this.
Does it update only payware? Or can this update freeware as well?
This is really great. Thank you! One thing I noticed: with the Felis it doesnt make a difference wether I select the beta channel, or main channel. Is this because version 1.2.3.4 is currently a released version, but also the latest beta, or is it because the option beta yes/no isnt fetched correctly?
This is such a ridiculous way of updating. I have done everything suggested. I have downloaded gigs of data. Why cant this software get the latest config files. I am just sick of the hardship you have to go through to update things you have bought. I am so close to saying goodbye again to XP. Its getting too much.
All Skunkcrafts needs is the SkunkCraftspdater plugin folder installed in the X-Plane>Resources>Plugins folder and the skunkcrafts_updater.cfg file in the base folder of the aircraft. If you have that and it's not working, then you have some kind of conflict e.g. an incompatible version of the aircraft with the current version of the updater; an aircraft that is no longer supported; something blocking your connection (e.g. firewall). You can't update the aircraft you have active.
@SuperSixBravo44I experienced the same issue back when SkunkCrafts was updated. You do need to download the latest version of the aircraft. I did not re-install. I just copied the SkunkCraft file from the download into the particular model folder. You do need the latest version of that file. I've not had an issue since.
Many thanks I will try this. But in all honesty the Software should be able to update config files, So I got to download +1GB for a silly text file! That is just insane, Its not the download its the insanity of it. Thank you I will try this out, for now I just cant be bothered with all this any more, its too much, It is putting me off the platform!
Depends on how the developer originally set it up. If they ran a dual 11,12 for a while they eventually spilt them That requires you to download the correct file to point to the correct ver. Not rocket science. Only need to do it once.
Not rocket science lol. I make software that this daily. If I can download the file from the store account, then why on earth can the software not check for a new config, download it and then re read it? Yes not rocket science just terrible user experience.
Why do I need to download 1GB + for a 176K file? That's terrible, and needs fixing. Would you be ok with reinstalling your os for a 70MB update? Please, if you want to defend things then at least defend things that are reasonable.
All - I also get a similar error when trying to update the 747-8i-Freighter Plane. I have had the plane for two weeks and spent a day figuring out how the updater is supposed to work. It fails, I have sent the developer an email, with no reply yet. Several systems need updates, with nothing working in the update process. This is bogus to me too.
