Grants and End of the Year

Hey HIDO HR!

Congratulations once again on a great and promising first semestser! :)
We co-sponsored 2 events and are on the road to raising funds to support
Paz y Esperanza in Peru.

We should be proud of what we've accomplished this semester - especially
considering that everything was new and everyone was so busy!

HIDO is itself "developping" at an exponential rate, and we are looking
forward to making many connections over the summer with NGOs and
communities that will strengthen out agendas for the fall. Also, thanks to
all of your feedback we also have many new, good ideas for how to
creatively and efficiently motivate our large-group meetings in the fall
and for years to come.

That said - our group must PUSH TO THE FINISH this semester. We still have
a *reasonable* goal to raise $1500 for Paz y Esperanza - we've committed
to doing this and we have an NGO relying on us for these funds now.

*please* email me now with the progressive you made on grant
research/writing. Although it might not be possible for us to have $1500
in our hands by the time exams end and everyone leaves for the summer, i'd
like us to at least have a solid plan of attack!

Also, even if you haven't been involved with this project up to now but
wuld like to jump in and help, email me and let me know. I'm also looking
for suggestions for other methods of fundraising! be creative - drop me a
line!

We won't have an end-of-the-year meeting, because i know how ridiculously
busy and stressed everyone is these days. So PLEASE email me back. Think
of all the good that you're doing! Feel proud that you can remember the
rest of the world exists, during a period of time (reading & exam period)
where Harvard students tend to think that they are the only people in the
universe!
