Tonights Meeting Contents!

Hello Everyone!

Please read through this email - I will make it consise! It is replacing a
meeting so it is important! :)

1) PHILIP HEYMANN vs KEN ROTH Terrorism Debate
* a date has been set: April 21st
* location: still TBA - the Law School Forum peeps are
going to get back to me ASAP
* they are making posters - we will have some nice,
professional posters with OUR name (HCIDO) on them too to poster next week
- so get ready for some early mornings!
* PUBLICITY PEOPLE - is anyone other than Rob, Nick and
Janice interested in doing publicity? My contact at the Law school is
getting me a blurb about this event in the next day or to, and then I'd
like us to start contact every media source from the Crimson to the Boston
Globe to ABC. Also - would someone be interested in heading our on-campus
push for undergraduate attendence at this event? This is really important,
since we convinced the law school forum to let us co-sponsor, since we
promised undergrad attendence! email me NOW if you're interested!!! :)
* PUBLICITY - we need to have a meeting. Janice, Rob, NIck
- please schedule a time to meet late this week/this weekend and CC me on
it :)

this is going to be a HUGE event! I'm so excited!!! HIDO's name in
lights! :)


2) Human Rights Watch: Has begun to give us other projects as well!
Hurrah! May Habib - please email me as if you are still interested, HRW
would like to use your arabic skills to aid them in their project on
Algeria. HRW is travelling to algeria in May so there might be an
opportunity for travel as well!

3) PEACE and HOPE in Peru project. We are going to try and raise $1500 to
support a human rights project in PERU, by the end of the year. Gaby Pena
is heading this project. I would like to brainstorm several ways in which
we can raise this money. Awareness/Impact people (Steph, Joe, Susanna)
what do you think? Gaby will email you more information on the project
that we are fundraising for. (Gaby, please email them the english version
of the project breakdown!)

4) Juarez Mexico - Laura - please send me an update on this project. Did
the foundation respond well to our offer to grant-write for them. Is
anyone else interested in helping Janice churn out at least one grant
application before the end of the year? Stephanie, Susanna - is there
anyone on the impact team who would be interested in teaming up with
Janice on this to seek out applicable grants to apply for, and then fill
them out? :)

5) Projects for next year. So far this year, we have covered projects in
North America, Latin America and Northern Africa. If you know of a project
in the Middle East/Subsaharan Africa/Asia that would be interesting for
HIDO Human Rights to work on next year, please let me know. Keep your eyes
and ears peeled as you travel the globe this summer (as i know many of
you are doing... :)
