HEY YOUTH!  SUMMIT UP WITH US ON MAY 29TH, 2010!

SUMMIT UP is an annual conference planned and produced by youth organizers with the purpose of helping young people realize their own power and use it to better their communities.

Participation in SUMMIT UP is FREE!  The event will take place at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center & Delridge Community Center on May 29th from 10:30am-

4:30pm followed by a celebration/dance party from 7-11pm. FYI: sorry about the typo on the flier, but the dance will only be open to conference participants! .

SUMMIT UP will:

  • Bring together Southwest and South Seattle youth in powerful workshops and trainings
  • Unite youth voices to identify issues that influence their physical and personal communities
  • Create youth solutions to community and neighborhood challenges
  • Connect existing youth leaders
  • Motivate the leader within every youth.
  • Share youth job opportunities, paid internships, and educational resources.
  • Be Hella Fun! See our fresh flier below for details…

Pre-registration is not required, but help us out and let us know you’re coming by visiting our facebook page  . For specific questions or if you have connections to resources you think might help (for example: food and drink sponsorships) the conference email us a summit...@gmail.com

*Youth from other Seattle communities are welcome to attend. Adult allies are welcome to attend by bringing at least one youth participant and agreeing to respect youth voices at the conference.

"For nothing is fixed, forever and forever and forever, it is not fixed; the earth is always shifting, the light is always changing, the sea does not cease to grind down rock. Generations do not cease to be born, and we are responsible to them because we are the only witnesses they have. The sea rises, the light fails, lovers cling to each other, and children cling to us. The moment we cease to hold each other, the sea engulfs us and the light goes out." - JAMES BALDWIN
