Hi everyone!

I went as a facilitator and supported youth delegates from Franklin High School attending.  Also, Hidmo represented with Sam Terry and Youngstown represented with Estevan Munoz-Howard.  There were over 900 Caucuses citywide that were narrowed down to 1200 priorities and then at this congress narrowed down to the document attached.

For the 1st session, I was a facilitator for "Youth Development" and 2nd session everyone facilitated rooms for "Education."  I was supporting the "Youth only" space where adults were not supposed to talk.  Check out their list and compare what youth state they need compared to other list.  Facilitating was a tough gig, because I didn't always agree on what was being stated, but had to document.

These priorities will be used to focus initiatives that come out of the Mayor's office during his time in office.  People can use this to hold the Mayor accountable to what people want and state they need in Seattle.

Tell me what you think.... Also, folks from SeaYA can take this to the US Social Forum (USSF) and compare to their Youth Summit People's Movement Assembly (PMA).
In strength and solidarity,
Lulu

Thanks again for all your help on Saturday!

It was by all accounts a wildly successful day, and that’s thanks in very large part to your help as facilitators and room captains. You did a great job of guiding everyone through the process in a way that made sense and encouraged open, honest discussion and dialogue—more than one delegate told me that it was the best public meeting they’d ever been to, which is a wonderful testament to your skill as group leaders.

I’ve attached the results from Saturday’s breakout sessions (for those of you who got a copy yesterday before you left, this version has been updated with bullet points for the Youth Development session from the morning); I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop as the Initiative moves forward, and if there’s ever anything I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to ask!
