It was great to see all of the parents and family members at yesterday’s game. The players really appreciate the support in the stands.

I thought yesterday’s game looked good. We’ve got a larger freshman class than I’ve ever seen in the seven years that I’ve been involved in the club. Usually we just have a few freshmen and that class continues to build as they get older, with the senior class being the largest. But nothing has been usual for a while. Having a team that is over half freshman means the early season games will be challenging. We did well, and the new guys played with a lot of heart. The team we played Saturday beat Rockbridge 16-8 right before they played us. We did well to hold them to 10, with a lot of saves from our goalie Benton. Congratulations to Max for putting us on the board with a goal. It was a solid game for being only two weeks into practice. Every person on our team made a valuable contribution.

Thanks to HD for stepping up with equipment management and field striping, and Jason for keeping our stats. The next couple of weeks will be intense. We have games on Saturday and Sunday for the next two weekends. After that we get a great big break before the next games. Always keep an eye on the calendar at https://hickmanlacrosse.org/2020-calendar/ as games often get adjusted as we go.
