Jambo all,
There are now 38 people on this email list for the Hibiscus Project.
While we deliberate on the aggregator and other issue I suggest we start with a quick round of introductions for the benefit of those of us who do not know everyone on the list and who were not present in Delhi for the brainstorming session. You can of course keep your identity anonymous and share you pseudonym instead.

I’ll start things of

Name: Daudi
Pseudonym: Mentalacrobatics
Blog: http://www.mentalacrobatics.com/think/
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

I started and run the Kenyan Blogs Webring which is based at http://www.kenyaunlimited.com/
I help out with the African Women’s blog ring at: http://www.africanwomenblogs.com/

Both those sites run aggregators which generate a lot of interest which is why I believe the Hibiscus Project aggregator would be fantastic.

Wow 38 people!  That is very exciting.

Name: Jennifer Brea
Pseudonym: I wish I had one now.  Any ideas?
Blog:  I most enjoy writing for Africabeat http://jenbrea.typepad.com/africabeat and of course, Global Voices.  But like a lot of bloggers, I dabble a fair amount.  I've always had an interest in Africa, and after moving to China, writing about China in Africa and Africa in China seemed like a logical step.
Location: Beijing, China (I am American)

Pachipamwe/Hey y'all,

Zimpundit here!

I started the Zimpundit blog (http://zimpundit.blogspot.com).  I have since taken over editorial control of Zimbabwe's first "superblog," Enough Zimbabwe ( http://enoughzimbabwe.org).

A discussion of Sino-African relations is important to Zimbabwe because of the long ranging relationship between our country and China.  China was a critical ally of Zimbabwe "freedom fighters" providing many essential ammenites and expertise which helped birth Zimbabwe. In later times, China has once again reared her dominant head now in the economic arena as she has indulged Mugabe's famed "look east policty."  It's an understatement to say that Zimbabwe has been overrun many Chinese imports.

In short, this will be an exciting project for me from a variety of perspectives!  Looking forward to itall.

Regards,

ZP
