Management and administration of Oracle and MS SQL Server databases. |
Perform daily IT operation tasks. |
Assist in system utilization by internal users. |
Perform 1st tier and 2nd tier database support. |
Coordinate 3rd tier support services between customer and intercom/vendor support. |
Assist in database architecture development and design specifications. |
Co-ordinate with IT vendors to install, configure and maintain database systems / related applications. |
Provide support during functionality and acceptance testing. |
Ensure optimal performance of the organization's databases. |
Regularly monitor and reconcile the performance of the databases to targetted performance thresholds. |
Maintain database security and data integrity. |
Manage data backup planning and backup integrity validation. |
Database automation and scripting duties. |
Investigate and resolve DB/DBMS incidents/requests. Escalate irresolvable issues to relevant vendors/suppliers where appropriate. |
Ensure availability of accurate standards, guidelines and procedures documentation. |
