My current household started out with a single young adult with no money and nothing build on his land. He worked super hard and now that he's just barely an adult, him and his family (2 parents and 2 kids) have so much money I can't spend it all. Their house is decked out to the nines! Is there a mod or trick to lower their income or make things more expensive? It's barely fun anymore bc they don't have to save for anything :(

Using Sims 4 cheats offers you a risk-free shortcut to the high life - free money, free building, instant happiness and friendships, the ability to turn everyone into a plant... You name it!

This Sims 4 Cheats and Secrets guide details everything you need to know about cheat codes on the PS4 and PS5 consoles. In addition, this cheats guide will also detail how to enter cheats, as well as a complete list of all cheat codes, such as career and relationship-based cheats, unlimited money, and much more.

While motherlode and rosebud are beloved cheats, an easier way to get your sims the Simoleons they need is by typing "Money X" with X being the amount you want to give your household. You can also use this to subtract funds from your household.

Any fan of The Sims knows that 'motherlode' is just one of the epic cheat codes that can be used to grant your sims a whole load of Simoleons because, hey, life can get hard for sims just like in real life.

Cheats allow you to personalise your gameplay in the Sims 4 and they are really easy to use! Below I lay out exactly how to use the money related cheats in the game: motherlode, kaching and more!

Digging for collectibles/searching for frogs has been a staple of early money making in The Sims 4 since its launch in 2014. For a while, it was only of the only options to make money in the game. While it is no longer the only option, it does still do a pretty good job of getting those early Simoleons.

Simmers that have The Sims 4 Nifty Knitting can have their Sims earn money by knitting items and then selling them on Plopsy (The Sims 4 version of Etsy). With a higher knitting skill, Sims can knit some pretty cool items that can sell for quite a lot on Plopsy.

Surprisingly enough, Photography is actually a relatively easy hobby to get into in The Sims 4. The reason for this is that every Sim has a smartphone to start and can take pictures on it. Which means that you sell all photos that you take without putting money into it. If you go this route, you may want to eventually have your Sim get a better quality camera as it can increase the selling value, but starting out with a smartphone is definitely ok!

Now that I'm in my 30s, I know that wealth isn't just seeing an astronomically high number in your bank account. Wealth is not instant gratification, but a feeling of having enough to take care of myself in the long run, created by daily habits and awareness of my money.

I learned that there are lots of ways to make passive income, or grow your money exponentially by investing in stocks or cryptocurrency, that can feel a little bit like the 'rosebud' cheat. But even those sources of passive income require knowledge, diligence, and patience.

Contrary to subconscious messaging from The Sims, there is no cheatcode to wealth that's going to magically erase all my debt, pluck me from my daily work duties, or fix all my money problems. All I can do is take small, consistent steps toward financial freedom every day.

The money tree takes five days to mature into a fully grown tree, and then the cash is all yours! It produces anywhere from 8,000 to 22,225 Simoleons per harvest, depending on quality (see harvesting section below).

If your Sim has a level 5 gardening skill, they can take a cutting from the money tree and graft it onto another tree. This will effectively give you two money trees without having to purchase another seed.

Grafting is a great way to increase profit. I sacrificed $1,600 per harvest (1 money fruit) to take a cutting. I received $4,800 per harvest (3 money fruits) from the spliced tree. And after two harvests, my original tree was back to producing five fruits.

The Money Making Machine is an object found in The Vault of Strangetown Hotel in The Sims 2. It can be used in order to obtain more money, as 10 simoleons can be produced at a time. However, if caught your sim will be taken to Strangetown Jail and have to pay the 200 simoleons for bail, so there's a big risk involved. There is only one of them in the game, much like many other objects which are unique to certain rooms of the hotel.

The machine can also be used to process metal bars found with the Metal Detector in the Desert. Doing this rewards you with more money than you would get from selling them at the Store. Furthermore, bars of chocolate can also be processed in the machine, rewarding 3 simoleons for each bar processed, however chocolate bars cost 4 simoleons to purchase so it's an overall loss.

  • Build the stadium. The Athlete job is the highest paying job at its top level, for the least amount of work.
  • Build Promotions R Us. Buy the soccer ball and have Athlete Sims play with it to get promoted faster to the highest salary.
  • Send your Sims to work before you go to sleep. When you wake up, they'll be all done and you'll have money to spend.

  • Gardening is the most profitable activity for Sims outside of working.
  • If you have the time, Bell Peppers are the most profitable in terms of both money earned and XP.
  • If you're just looking for money, Lettuce will earn you the most money per hour.
  • Tomatoes, Lettuce, Spinach, Strawberries, and Eggplant may produce Sim-eating plants. Don't worry - your Sim won't get eaten! Sim-eating plants will just delay you because you'll need to negotiate with them before they leave.
  • Corn is one of the best crops that will earn you a fair amount of money and XP per hour. You don't have to check on your Sims as frequently as Carrots or Bell Peppers, and you can plant without fear of Possible Sim-eating plants sprouting.
  • Beans are the best and safest crop to grow while you're sleeping or at work.
  • Complete the "Money Grows on Trees" quest (unlocked at Level 7) to grow Simoleon Sprouts every so often. Planting one lets you play a slot machine minigame to earn money.

The Sims 4 was met with controversy upon its launch, thanks largely to its relative lack of content. The open-world and customizable color palettes of The Sims 3 were entirely missing, as were staple features like pools and toddlers. While the game has expanded significantly since 2014, thanks partly to the release of free updates, many major improvements are locked into expansion packs that require extra money to purchase. As of late 2020, it cost around $800 to purchase all available content for The Sims 4, as many of the game's expansions are sold from anywhere between $20 to $40 USD. Given how many additional packs have been released in 2021, including the most recent, Cottage Living, it's likely that The Sims 4 is now making more money than ever.

As expected with a life sim, money, or Simoleons, as it's known in Sims 4, is vital to ensuring a productive life for the character. Players are limited on building, decor, skill-building items, food, and more without it. While there are many cheats to get around this inconvenience quickly, only some players are looking for one, and there are plenty of ways to make money without them.

To avoid using cheats in Sims 4, Sims will have to resort to more traditional ways of making money. Some of these may seem very familiar, such as getting a job or making money off a hobby, while others are less obvious such as stealing, beachcombing, and digging for treasure. Regardless of whatever appeals to players more, all are great options for extra pocket money.

Any of the methods that involve a skill will make more if that associated skill is higher. Performing, painting, and others like that will make the most possible money when the skill associated with it is maxed out.

Beachcombing is an easy way to make some money. To do it, Sims don't even necessarily need a beach, despite the name. They can perform this task anywhere that has sand floor texture. Simply click on the ground where the sand is, and Sims should be prompted with two options: looking for seashells or trash. Look for seashells, and the Sim should begin digging in the sand. This also won't provide vast amounts of money, but doing it for a minute or two can reward a decent amount, making it a fast way to make Simoleons in Sims 4.

One way to acquire a decent amount of money is simply asking for it, however, this method requires little work. Sims have the ability to ask those they have friendships with in Sims 4 for a loan, but they do have to jump through a couple of hoops first. To ask for money, Sims need to be at a Charisma level of 7, but this will only allow them to ask for a small loan. To ask for a large one, Charisma will need to be maxed out. Sims will also only be able to ask for loans from those they are friends with. Though this requires some work, it can be worth it as the larger loans are a few thousand dollars.

Another excellent and easy option for some income is utilizing a computer. Sims can earn money through writing and other various activities when using a computer, but writing a book is the most recommended option. After the Sim completes the book, they can publish it by putting it in the mailbox. Once this is done, they can make daily royalties on their work. The amounts will vary, but it is an excellent option for passive income. The higher the Sim's skill, the better the book they will write and the more money they will make.
