Saif gets a free Ducati... lost for words Saif Ali Khan gets a new ride from the owner of the brand. And all because he likes the actor’s style!

Former Ducati co-owner and currently CEO of the MV Agusta group Giovanni Castiglioni has gifted Saif Ali Khan an MV Agusta Brutale (2011 edition) gratis. Why? Apparently, he likes the actor’s personal style.

Of course, that’s not just it. The two are in talks regarding a business venture involving the brand and the possibility of them being marketed in India soon.

Recounts Saif, “During my recent trip to Staadt (Switzerland), this debonair guy walked up to me one night while at the bar, introduced himself as the owner of the MV brand and said he’d like to gift me his motorcycle.

His brand is the equivalent of a Ferrari.”

Lost for words

Adds the Chote Nawab, “However, I am not passionate about bikes, so was a bit lost for words. He then said he had researched about me on the Internet after liking my style and so had decided he wanted to gift me a bike.

He added that I could use it in Agent Vinod or just keep it in my living room but he was giving it and I had to take it! It’s the same model Christian Bale used in The Dark Knight.”

Apparently, Casteglioni had been observing Saif for a few days. The actor had no choice but to accept the gift. “It’s a sexy bike and he was so insistent!”

But he wonders how he’s going to use it in Mumbai where it’s “tough to ride bikes at high speed.” He admits he’s “not much of a bike guy though I love riding in open spaces”.

Will the bike be seen in Agent Vinod? “I can’t use it in the film as I have ridden a Harley Davidson already in it so I will keep Giovanni’s gift at home.”

Leisure time

Initially, the shoot was supposed to start immediately. But her co-star Akshay Kumar got held back in Mumbai due to patchwork for Thank You. This gave her some alone time at leisure.

A source reveals, “She used the time to thumb through the extensive collection of literature in the library.” Not just that, she also managed to hit the boutiques and go shopping..

Vidya Balan has found a fan in renowned world food critic and Masterchef Australia judge, Matt Preston.

After being honoured by the Mayor of Melbourne Robert Doyle during her recent trip Down Under, the actress was pleasantly surprised to receive a brunch invitation from Preston.

Bonding in Bondi

The two shared a meal at Bondi’s renowned Iceberg Bistro where they chatted about cinema and gourmet food. Matt also gifted Vidya a recipe book as he knew of the star’s penchant for cooking.

High praise

Says a source, ” Matt is a big fan of Bollywood cinema and immediately extended a brunch invitation to Vidya when he realised that she was in town for an event.

Not only did he praise her calling her one of the finest actresses but also promised to teach her a trick or two about cooking.”

The actress jumped at the offer on condition that Matt would teach her some gourmet vegetarian fare.

“Vidya is a pure vegetarian and loves cooking herself Matt obliged to teach her a few dishes and the two spoke about movies for quite a while” adds the source.

Vidya was in Australia for the 2011 Indian Film Festival: Bollywood and Beyond, where her films are being showcased.
