Hi group,
I have set up a miniDLNA server on my Raspberry Pi 4 and added it to the Hi-Fi Cast installation on my Android mobile.
For the VPN connection to mit FritzBox 7590 Router from outside I use the WireGuard VPN client and with the correct VPN and networks settings in Hi-Fi Cast everything is working perfect.

No I wanted to give a friend access to my DLNA server.
When I logged into his home WLAN with my mobile device, it's no problem to access the DLNA server and I can listen to music etc.

After installing the WireGuard VPN client on my friend's Android device, connection to my network via VPN is no problem. But after installing Hi-Fi Cast, it won't find the DLNA server in the network connected via VPN.
and unfortunately there's no option to add a DLNA server manually by entering the IP address.
What could I do?

Thanks in advance.
K.

Hi,

Try changing these settings in the app:
  • In Settings, disable 'Network Check'
  • In Settings > UPnP/DLNA, enable 'Use VPN interface'

Also, to access a media server over VPN you must have already connected to that server on your local network sometime in the past (and the IP address of the server must not have changed since then). There's no ability to specify a particular media server via IP address.

I hope that helps :)

Hi,
the network settings are like those you mentioned.

That's what I was afraid of, since there is no way to bring the device to my local network.
I really would appreciate the option of manually entering a DLNA server's IP address.
Or exporting the server list an import it on another device.

Thanks
Klaus
