HiFiCast is always on my log-in screen and notifications list whenever I sign on or bring up notifications.  "Exiting" the app does no good, nor does clearing the cache and turning off notifications.

I don't mind the app appearing if I have been using it, but I can't rid of it even if I haven't used it to cast music in weeks.

I have had the app for years, but this only has started happening in the last few weeks.  What can I do to disable the app, short of uninstalling it?

Samsung Galaxy S20+, Android 11.

Same here. I have notifications turned off, and for the last few weeks, the hi-fi cast control widget appears in my notifications every time I turn on my Galaxy S10.

Hi,

This sounds like it could be the 'feature' that was introduced in Android 11 where the last used media apps are displayed in the notification shade. Unfortunately the Hi-Fi Cast app has no control over it but you should be able to disable it via the Android settings app. Go to 'Sound' and then 'Media' and hopefully you'll see a 'Hide player' setting. You just need to turn this on. This setting might be in a different location, depending on the make/model of phone.
