HiFi Cast encountered an issue accessing data from the media server, resulting in an error (501).

Anyone an idea what to do?

My setup includes:

  • A Plex server on a Synology device with DLNA enabled
  • Multiple libraries on the Plex server

After installing HiFi Cast for the first time, it only recognized only one specific library from Plex, althought I had three available, it only show the first in the list. To resolve this, I removed the initially recognized library and merged all libraries into one large library, which now contains approximately 1500 music albums. However, I then encountered an error message in HiFi Cast.

Initially, I tried updating the server, but it didn't solve the problem; the error persisted. Subsequently, I removed the large library entirely. Switching to a smaller library, but the error-message still persists.

For your information, I use both HiFi Cast and BubbleUPnP. My preference leans towards HiFi Cast due to its superior user experience, although BubbleUPnP stands out with its excellent filter and search capabilities.

Best wishes from Ype in the Netherlands.

Solved. Stupid me. Had to change/reset the 'Top-level  Music Folder' and the 'Album folder': first items behind the setting wheel of the ples-server in the app. Dumm Dumm
