Stream url under shoutcast

This app is full of surprizes i must say. When choosing shoutcast radio as musicserver under queue i found the possibility to add a URL. But, this is not only restricted to shoutcast URLs. I can enter here any URL from any radio station and the stream starts. However, what is very special is that even the info text (e.g. Artist, track etc) is transmitted to myh dlna player (avr from marantz). I am searching for that function for a very long time. Good job guys. My question: is it possible to put streams started via the url entry box to the favourites section and give the radio station a name manually?

Hi,
Well it's not possible to do that now in the app but I agree it would be a good feature to have.
BTW: You can add stream URLs to the queue regardless of the media server you have selected (ie not just SHOUTcast).

Hi Brett, fantastic app, been using it for years best on the play store. Just discovered internet radio feature. I noticed that sometimes the track playing is displayed, other times not (e.g ifusion music radio). Any ideas what may be wrong?

I'm not sure what the problem is (yet). Are you playing to a Chromecast device of just though your phone speaker?

Noticed that streaming same station to my marantz, it shows the track playing unlike chromecast

Playing to chromecast connected to my tv, just selected it as normal from the hifi cast list of playback devices. Per my follow on post, track displays fine streaming to marantz cr610 (presumably via dlna?)

OK. That explains it. The app currently doesn't display radio track details when you are playing to a UPnP/DLNA renderer (player). Hopefully this will be coming fairly soon.

Also when playing to a chromecast video device the track details are not displayed on the TV, only in the app. This is also on my to-do list.
