m3u8 playlists

Hi all,

  I'm new to Hi-Fi Cast, but like what I see (compared to what I was using before, BubbleUPnP). One thing I'm have trouble with is it recognizing my playlists, which were created using my workhorse audio player, Poweramp, which exports in m3u8 format. Does Hi-Fi Cast support this format? If so, any ideas why it essentially sees those playlists as empty?

Hi,

The app doesn't read the playlist files itself but instead displays the playlists that the media server sends to it. And for each playlist, the Hi-Fi Cast app will display the tracks that the media server thinks are in the playlist.

If your music is on the Android device itself then the same applies but I believe the Android media scanner has problems processing some playlists files. See: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/157351665?pli=1
