I have just installed Hi-Fi Cast on my tablet (rinning Android 4.4), because it seems the only app to stream FLACS on Chromecast to my hi-fi amplifier..
In the menu I haven't got the "folder" option, only albums, all music, artist, genre, lenght, tracknumber, year, local playlist.
Another issue: if I plug into my media server (a simple modem/router with usb port) a 16 gb or 32 gb stick all files are seen by Hi-Fi Cast with no problem.
If I plug an external 500 gb 2,5" HD, the app shows only some albums and not all (a small part indeed): the directory is: ARTIST BY LETTER (A-B-C etc.), ALBUM (subfolder), FILE (sub-subfolder). Precisely, only artists starting with X-W-Y-Z are includesd in music library.
IThe PC shows all the folders as it should..
Last but not least, every album is tagged with its cover, the jpg is in the same albun folder, but Hi-Fi cast only shows some covers (a smal part indeed).
Anyone can explain why?
Thanks in advance.

Try this:
  • Go to the 'Media Servers' screen and tap the settings (wrench) icon on your media server.
  • Tap 'Top Level Music Folder' and then select 'Media Server' and then OK
  • Navigate back to your music library
  • Hopefully there will now be a Folders container visible

It's possible that the problem is with the media server itself. Have you tried any other UPnP/DLNA controller apps? eg BubbleUPnP (you'll find your server listed under 'Local and Cloud' in the navigation menu)

Again, the problem may be with the media server itself. Hi-Fi Cast relies on the media server sending it information about where to find the album covers. Can you try with another app and see if you see the same issue. Thanks.

Hello Fausto, I have exactly the same problem. Could you fix it? How?
