Odyssey Project Proposal

The Test of the Great Bow

Purpose and title of the project

We will accomplish telling the class, through a PowerPoint, about the
story The Test of the Great Bow from the book The Odyssey. We called
this project “The Test of the Great Bow” because that is what the name
of the story is in our text book.

Resources

The materials that our group needs are a computer with Microsoft
PowerPoint™ on it, picture of the story, and information provided by
our text book. We will complete the project on Betsy’s computer.

Justification

Our project will demonstrate our expertise on the Odyssey because our
PowerPoint will tell the story of The Test of the Great Bow through
pictures and description all written by Zach, Jensen, and Betsy. The
purpose of doing this project is to help the class understand The
Odyssey in a better and more familiar way through PowerPoint. You
should accept this project because you need this information in order
to play Jeopardy and the end of this unit.

Organizational Time-line

We will complete this project by using the following schedule:

All group members: in charge of creating at least two slides and have
them ready to bring to Betsy’s house on May 8, 2010.

Jensen:
• In charge of putting a couple of slides together about pages 1-2
(Including pictures and a paraphrased version of the text in our
book.)
• Jensen is also in charge of rehearsing the timing for our
PowerPoint.
Zach:
• In charge of putting a couple of slides together about pages 3-4.
(Including pictures and a paraphrased version of the text in our
book.)
• Zach is also in charge of putting ALL the animations into the
PowerPoint. 


Betsy:
• In charge of putting a couple of slides together about pages 5-6.
(Including pictures and a paraphrased version of the text in our
book.)
• Betsy is also in charge of putting appropriate music to our
PowerPoint.


Schedule:

May 8, 2010~ Meet a Betsy’s house to merge our PowerPoints together
and add animation to our slides.

May 14, 2010~ Meet a Betsy’s house to add music and discuss how we are
going to present our project to the class.

May 16, 2010~ Meet at Betsy’s house rehearse timings for our
PowerPoint.

May 18, 2010~ Turn in final project.


Everyone in our group is responsible for supplying correct information
to put in this PowerPoint. We will all go through our information
together and decide as a group what is put into our project.
