Bob, the Prairie Family Business Association's about statement is now in the StratML collection, at https://stratml.us/drybridge/index.htm#PFPA

It reinforces my desire to make it as easy as possible to engage HHI's stakeholders -- including part-timers like you, Dennis, and Mark -- in our comprehensive planning process.

As well-connected and collaborative as we think we may be, we can always do better.  One indicator of our performance in that regard will be whether folks like you decide you simply cannot resist sharing more of your time and attention with us in our Truly Connected community.

Sheryse, the Inclusive WG's plan includes several references to "visitors" but none to part-time residents, who have a wealth of knowledge and experience to be tapped.

Shea, our Connected WG's plan includes a couple references to "new" and "future" residents but none to part-time residents.

In the Economy WG's plan, this objective is tangentially related -- Objective 4.1.1: Seasonality - Consider options to decrease seasonality and use shoulder seasons to make Hilton Head Island a year round destination (arts, education, culinary, sports).  However, it falls under the Tourism goal and clearly does not address the interest of part-time residents.

It might be interesting to analyze how the population of part-timers relates to HHI's annual business cycle and workforce housing issues.  Just a wild thought ...  Perhaps someone has already done that but I don't recall seeing any such stats.  The tourism industry is supported by the CofC but is there any org that represents part-timers?  Perhaps the realtors may to some degree but obviously not enough to impact real estate taxation.

While the term "residents" might be interpreted as including part-timers, they clearly have specialized interests that should also be taken appropriately into account, particularly since they are unrepresented in the political election process.
