Shea, per discussion at the meeting, I'll look forward to learning whether the staff decides to leave the Technology and Place aspirations as goals or to make them objectives (strategies) under the Planning and Quality of Life goals, respectively.
In the meantime, I updated my StratML rendition of our work group's plan at http://connectedcommunity.net/hhi/OPCCWG.xml and applied the stylesheet enabling comments to be directed to the discussion forum at http://connectedcommunity.net/HHICCC.html
I also rendered the Economy WG's goals in StratML format, at http://connectedcommunity.net/hhi/OPEWG.xml.
I attended their meeting yesterday for the purpose of encouraging
them to include an objective (strategy) relating to the Excellence
WG's proposal to create a center(s) of excellence. Such a CoE(s)
should support (be strategically aligned with) the social and
economic objectives of the community and, conversely, should also
create *new* business opportunities.
For example, I suggested it would be good to establish a CoE addressing public planning and engagement, with the expectation that it might spawn at least one new startup providing the necessary online tools, apps, and services.
I'd also like to render the goals of the Inclusive, Excellence,
Infrastructure, and Regionality WGs in StratML format and
demonstrate how the stratml:Relationship elements can be used to
cross-link them to each other (particularly to the goals of our
WG). Are they available online? If not, please send me copies of
the other WGs' plans as soon as they have completed their work
prior to the December 2 Plan Development Team meeting.

Connected Group Members,
I just wanted to follow-up with you since a few of you were not able to make it. We had a good meeting. I will be sending out a draft for your review that incorporates input from the meeting. Unless anyone identifies the need to meet again regarding that draft, we are done until the December 2nd Development Team Meeting. On December 2nd, the Development Team will provide feedback on the strategies and tactics. Due to the potential wordsmithing and editing that may be needed when staff puts everything together from all of the groups, these recommendations do not have to be in a final version.
Following the Dec 2nd meeting, staff be preparing a draft of the plan, which will come back to the work groups in February when completed. We’ll also have a big party with the full project is complete!
Thank you all for all of your time and input into this effort! More to come!! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Shea
