QRZ.com said conditions were not that great this morning. Which
book are we talking about and what are you hearing on the Texas
net? I listened a little one morning, but keep forgetting to turn
on the radio.
Not very good this morning for the Texas net; hope it is better for us in the morning. I printed out the lesson for today and will plan to participate. I think I left the book back in New Jersey but will listen and try to remember what I read.
'The budget should be balanced, The treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lets we become bankrupt. People must again learn to work instead of living on public assistance.' Cicero, 55BC
Thy Kingdom Comes.
Yes, I also forget to turn it on and get busy with other higher priorities. I just listen to the locations of the different stations. The radio is getting easier to tune the more I use it.
See you at 6PM mountain on the call.

Band conditions were not that great this morning, but both 40 and
80m were usable and all stations checked in on both bands. Signal
fading was a problem on both bands thunder noise was a problem on
80m as well. Check-ins were:
No, thought you might be on the study call last night. Good to hear you and Dennis this morning. Guess I will experiment by putting the cap hat on and see how that works with you and Texas net over the next week or so.
Bb.
If you are still awake, my daughter is going into elective surgery this morning. I covet your prayers for her.

Charley,
Currently near Davenport, Iowa. Will listen at 6am central time 3.802 and about 5/10 after go to 7.285
If nothing I will have Skype on if I can connect to internet.

Heard you best on 80, maybe 3/4, then barely on 40. Maybe we should add 20 for next time as it was best.
Neither band was really usable this morning, although I was just barely able to check Bob in on 80m. He claimed he heard me on 40m, but I didn't hear him. Check-ins were:
AC7LU Charley Net Control
KD7MLX Sheila
WH6UO Bob - Near Davenport, Iowa
Charley AC7LU
20 was very high on the scale, do you think we should add it as a 3rd option?
Bb
Charley,
Expect they will take out gallbladder today so will miss tomorrow. Will plan on next week.
God is good.

Thank you Brother, great witnessing experiences through all this.

Some people wanted me to have gallbladder surgery years ago because I was having gallbladder attacks regularly.
I did a cleanse and have not had any trouble for almost two decades.
The 80m band was crystal clear for me this morning, but Dennis was barely able to hear me as usual. Guess he still hasn't figured out if he has receiver problems or local noise problems. We make contact on 40m as well, but the band conditions varied between crystal clear to barely readable as the signal faded in and out, so we moved to the phone. Bob's phone didn't answer. Check-ins were:
AC7LU Charley Net Control
KD7MLX Sheila
KD0TTF Dennis
Charley AC7LU
Wonderful.
Brother Charley,
I will get the antenna up today and prepare for tomorrow morning at 7am from New Jersey. Don't expect to hear you but hope so. Do you want to add 20m for the 3rd 5 minute segment in case favorable conditions are present there or just 80/40?
Health update; still have drain tubes and think it will be slower recovery than I first thought. Dr. said I should be able to sail to Key West this fall.

Ok, you choose the frequency. I may have to wait until morning to raise the antenna because it is raining and lightening right now but may clear before dark.

By phone do you mean Skype or ?

By phone do you mean Skype or ?
I was able to hear Dennis clear as a bell on 80m this morning, but his reception problems seem to have deteriorated to the point he's unable to hear me at all. I was able to connect with Bob in NJ on 40m, but we fell back to the phone when nether of us could communicate with Dennis. Check-ins were:
AC7LU Charley Net Control
KD7MLX Sheila
KD0TTF Dennis - Half way
WH6UO Bob - NJ
Charley AC7LU
Somehow I have managed to change my smartphone startscreen and cannot get it back as of now. Hopefully we can talk on Skype if necessary with campground WiFi from trailer in storage.
Bb
Dennis and I were able to communicator on 40 and 80m this morning, although 80m provided the best copy. Bob is back at the VA hospital in Philly for something related to his gallbladder and is hoping to be back the air next week. Check-ins were:
AC7LU Charley Net Control
KD7MLX Sheila
KD0TTF Dennis
Charley AC7LU
Conditions were pretty tough this morning and Dennis was just barely able to copy me on 80m and not at all on 40m this morning. Bob was unable to copy either of us on either band, but did let us know he tried on the phone. Check-ins were:
AC7LU Charley Net Control
KD7MLX Sheila
KD0TTF Dennis - barely
Charley AC7LU
Although QRZ said all bands were in poor condition this morning, 80m worked pretty good with conditions deteriorating as the sun came up. Could not make contact on 40m at all. Check-ins were:
AC7LU Charley Net Control
KD7MLX Sheila
KD0TTF Dennis
Charley AC7LU
Conditions were mixed on 40 and 80m with much fading. Check-ins were:
AC7LU Charley Net Control
KD7MLX Sheila
KD0TTF Dennis
Charley AC7LU
Poor band conditions this morning. No contact on 80m. I did hear Dennis on 40m, but we were not able to converse with him. Bob emailed us to let us know he heard both of us on 40m, but I was unable to hear him and was unable to get a contact report from Dennis. Check-ins were:
AC7LU Charley Net Control
KD7MLX Sheila
KD0TTF Dennis
WH6UO Bob - NJ - Half way
Conditions were bad on 80m, although Dennis and I thought we
could pick up a word here and there. Communications on 40m was
not possible.
The 80m band seemed great to me this morning, but Dennis could just barely hear me. Sounds like he my be bringing his radio by at the end of the month to see if we can figure out what the reception problem is. The 40m band didn't work at all. Check-ins were:
AC7LU Charley Net Control
KD7MLX Sheila
KD0TTF Dennis
Poor band conditions again this morning. Just barely heard Dennis on 80m, but he could not hear me. Nothing on 40m. Check-ins were:
AC7LU Charley Net Control
KD7MLX Sheila
KD0TTF Dennis - Half way
No check-ins.
Have auto appointment at 7am. See you next week.

Hi Charley,
Going to bible study tomorrow and since we are not connectimg, it seems OK to me. I have started working on the boat electronics and should have the HF radio checked and perhaps working by next Wednesday but surely the one following.
I have the same Icom 706 in the boat (and an Icom M802) with the AT- 140 auto tuner hooked to the backstay. Just have to check it out along with doing numerous other things. May have to try to get a counterpoint worked under the floor.
Lots of electronics, radar, chartplotter, weather, compass, etc to check. Also got the wind vane steering delivered today to the campground, so that will also be installed. Lots to do before the end of October, but think it will be doable
I won't be back at the boat until next Monday so I may not have it ready next week.
God bless and pray all is well

Sorry, but I over slept and completely missed the net. Hope I
can do better next week.
Hey guys,
I thought last night about the call and also about the men's bible study at 7am. Well, this morning I forgot about both as I was getting ready for the day and praying and studying. So many prayer needs. Hadn't turned on the phone so missed the Skype call if you did one.
Pray all is well and hope to connect next Wednesday at 7am.
Brother Bob
Charley,
I'm going to the 7am men's bible study. Working on boat radios and hope to be online soon there. When I experiment and am getting out I will try from the boat at 7am.
Bb
Internet still out and I'm at the library again. Will try to call the net Wednesday morning at the usual times and frequencies.
Charley AC7LU
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say I used everything You gave me.
Sounds like Dennis and I have more flexibility than Bob, so I'd
propose we take advantage of Bob's Friday opening. How's a 7AM
MDT start time sound to everyone with a net call on odd hours?
I'd propose an initial call on 7850kHz on the hour followed by a
12222kHz call 5 minutes after the hour with everyone sending a
comm report back to the group after each attempt. We might have
to adjust this depending on interference issues as the day
proceeds.
Charley,
Ok, will do. 9AM EDT 7850khz then 12222 @ 9:05 and then report our experience and then @ 11am, 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm do it again.
Has there been anyone respond from the East coast that I might listen for? If so, I could call for/as relay if necessary.
I'll set the alarms. Please confirm this is accurate.

Must have been too early. Meant to say, 7,285kHz and 14,222kHz.
Charley,
I'm not getting any reading with low power, cw mode @7850, which seems outside the bands, adjusting the radio antenna from top to bottom.
What's up?

We changed the frequencies to 7,285kHz and 14,222kHz, but the
appear to be having a net on 7,285kHz.

14230 first @ 11em edt then 7242 @ 5 after?
14230 not very good, noise and only 40 forward with no reflected. Going to 7285, better.
Charley, I can't do the 1pm edt. See you at 3
