4:54pm edt - somebody's got a radio program on 7.285
Was able to copy Dennis great on 7,285 at 1PM MDT, but no Bob. Could not hear Bob or Dennis on 14,225kHz, but an Oregon station was booming in here.

14.265 was clear in New Jersey @ 5:15 pm edt and I could hear both AC7LU, Charley, in Wyoming, and KDOTTF, Dennis, in South Dakota, but turned out to be a dedicated Salvation Army emergency communications frequency to my understanding. Pray the cell towers don't go out.

I'll go with your evaluation as I did not take enough log notes. Bands were very busy, probably because of storm. (?)
I believe the frequencies will not be consistent each week with varying conditions. But trying different frequencies sounds reasonable.

You guys are correct about the variability of conditions. This
time of year 40 and 80m usually work the best. During the summer
months it's usually 20 and 40m. Unfortunately, Dennis and I
usually can't make contact on 20m no matter what time of the year
it is. I suspect our signals just skip right over each other, so
for us 40m is the common denominator.
