Crazy - I met Dan like 5 years ago through a friend. I doubt he remembers me but I remember being amazed that this young kid ran a full on legit company.

I'm not sure if the same people are splitting up for the semis or what.

But I do know that the 16 teams are being divided into 4 groups of 4.  And each group with have a set of judges.  Those judges will choose a winner to advance.  How they are dividing the teams is a mystery.  Hopefully they're seeding the teams carefully so that a  would-be finalist doesn't get the shaft because the top teams were grouped together.
