Seltzer bottle CO2 canisters

You can't realistically import them from the USA (my wife and I
have scoured the Internet over a week.) Canadian Tire sells 10-gram
ones for some kind of pellet or BB guns that are about 3/4 inch too
long. We have this seltzer bottle in mint condition that is going on 30
years old, and would love to find a source of CO2 canisters. Used to be
able to get them locally at a half dozen places, but we can't find a
thing lately.

What are these things, sorta like a soda siphon.
Those are 12oz i believe, depending how they fit in to your unit...
Anyway, check places where co2 rifles are sold.

They're one of many things I buy from Big Eric's, the restaurant supply
company, on Lady Hammond Road. If you're a kitchen gadget / cooking /
foodie person you'll love the place.

Nope - they don't carry specific sizes of anything for tables.
You can get anything cut out of any thickness of plexi, at Cadillac
Plastic in Burnside, for a very reasonable price. They'll put a
beautiful polished edge on it.

You might be better off going to one of the glass shops around town to
have that cut for you, out of glass or Plastic.

If you want to go with tempered, it isn't as easy to break.

As Sheena mentioned, you will see longer life from glass than you will
with plastic. Certainly much nicer appearance and durability. It's worth
the extra bit of money for the end result. They will deliver it to your
home as well.

I don't know if there would be a charge for the delivery or not, but it
would certainly be better than risking breaking it as you attempt to get
it out of the car and into your place. If they break it it's their nickel.

They are hard to describe, Donna. A quart glass bottle covered
with a chain mesh. I managed to find a picture of one:

It's almost exactly like this except the chain mesh is gold
colored. The CO2 cartridge is an 8-oz one, which fits into the twist on
metal container on the bottom of the picture. The CO2 cartridges
readily available at Canadian Tire and elsewhere locally for pellet/BB
guns are 10-oz, and hence 1/2 to 3/4 inch too long.
I found 5-6 places that sell boxes of the 8-ounce cartridges in the
USA, but they won't ship them over the border -- presumably because they
are compressed gas. I was hoping for a Canadian distributor. This was
a gift to my wife about 30 years ago, and we'd like to try it out again.
I guess 10-ounce canisters are readily available in Canada because
their normal use is for CO2 guns -- a far safer item than a seltzer
bottle! :-)
