What is the nature and purpose of existence,
if reality is ultimately an illusion and every
individual's perception of it is subjective? :-)

I have not been able to discern any purpose of existence. As for
its nature, we are in the progress of finding out by science.

True, we perceive nature indirectly through our transducers.
We can only have a model of nature. That model is good
enough to allow us to get around and survive in the world.
We are beginning to see that the real nature of the world
is somewhat different from that shown to us by our natural
senses. We have tools that can see what we cannot see.
From this we hope to improve our model of the world though
how close that model will be to its true nature we may never
be able to know.

The statement acknowledges the limitations of human perception
and the evolving nature of scientific understanding, but it doesn't
negate the possibility of discovering the true nature of existence
or uncovering a purpose through continued exploration and advancements
in science and technology.

Of course, there is always that possibility but nothing has turned
up yet. It is also possible that the sun will not rise tomorrow. :)
